The talk is 3 in. You never know but how many still to go?

Graham, diakte or however you spell it, Wickham, fletcher, Johnson?

Do you think it will only be deadwood going out or will or first team be disrupted?

We should be in for Dawson for the 3 mill being banded about. I doubt fletcher will go in this window and I thin graham will go on loan to the championship. We need a few and we will be set.

Fletch just didn't look his old self yesterday. Think it's time he left for a new start.

Can't see anyone like fletcher or AJ leaving, coz I doubt anyone will offer them better terms than they are currently on

Completely agree, Gus won't get rid of any of our first team. The only players going will be fringe players

We have done pretty well clearing the deadwood as they are often described however that is because we have had to give them away. Still 3 or 4 to go out and we should really have a squad where everyone will be involved, thin squad but I would rather youth be given a chance if we are struggling rather than a journeyman on fat wages.

If we can get those last few off the wage bill it gives us a chance to get more in or leave a little extra leeway for the January window

I think the most likely to go is Wickham because to my knowledge he has still not signed a new deal. This would be a massive blow if it happens.

Maybe AJ for the fact he was absent Sat but he might have genuinely been ill.

I hope Graham goes and never comes back. Can't see Fletcher leaving as we wont get back what we paid, unless of course we can get Bruce to take him with the 12m he got for Long.

I think we should really go for Welbeck even if its on loan, he would be fantastic for us and would slot in perfectly on the left.

There is no way that Wickham should be allowed to leave!Gus wants him to play for us and our director of football and Ms Byrne should do their jobs and get Connor signed-up on a new contract<doh>

Looks like he's asking for too much so they'll have to spend time getting him down though mate. Overpaying only leads to QPR/Portsmouth/Leeds outcomes.

    No thanks.

I agree, why pay him his demands? Since the season has started he's shown two things, He's poor at passing and he isn't very versatile. Thing is, there's no reason why he shouldn't be able to play the role given, he's still part of strike force, he's basically a striker who can only play in 433 if he's in the middle. Wih his pace that shouldn't be the case but it is. He should know full well his early form would reveal his value in wage, so far he's been poor, he needs to lower his demands.

    10 clubs?

UP-FOR-SALE Modibo Diakite is being chased by TEN clubs, Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has revealed.

Diakite is surplus to requirements at the Stadium of Light after spending the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina before not even being handed a squad number when he returned to Sunderland this summer.

Fiorentina, along with fellow Italian sides Palermo, Sampdoria and Inter Milan, have all been linked with Diakite, who still has another two years to run on the contract he penned when he arrived at Sunderland on a Bosman deal last summer.

But Poyet claims there are a total of 10 sides interested in the former Lazio man and it is just a question of the centre-half deciding between them.

Poyet told the Echo: “Diakite has got 10 options.

“The problem is managing them because he has got his priorities as well.”

If Sunderland can offload Diakite - and there has been speculation about the club reaching a settlement on his contract - then it will be another step in the Black Cats’ bid to sell the dead-wood after David Moberg Karlsson and Alfred N’Diaye have already departed.

Sunderland are also hoping to move on midfielder Cabral and striker Danny Graham before Monday’s transfer deadline.

As the Echo reported last week, Cabral is keen to remain in England by joining a Championship club, although there has been interest from Russia in the 25-year-old.

And despite being handed a squad number and taking a place on the bench in Sunderland’s opening day draw at West Brom, Graham is also expected to depart.

Graham’s agent held talks with newly-promoted Championship side Wolves over the weekend, while his former clubs Middlesbrough and Watford have also made enquiries.

“I think we’re getting close (to moving them on) because of the transfer window,” said Poyet.

“I have to give them credit.

“We were very close to finding a solution for them (Diakite and Cabral) before we went to Portugal for pre-season - and Danny as well.

“That was why they didn’t travel. It was not like ‘off you go’.

“Then it didn’t happen and when we came back, it was daily.

“Last week, someone said Cabral was travelling to Russia and the next day he was here and the day after he was playing for the Under 21s.

“I’m surprised and thinking ‘what happened?’ so you can imagine what it’s like for them.

“But if you train well with me and the quality of training is up there, I’ve got no problem.”

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet believes Modibo Diakite, Danny Graham and Cabral will all have left the Stadium of Light before the summer transfer window closes next Monday.

Diakite, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, is surplus to requirements at Sunderland and did not even receive a squad number following his return from Italy.

Black Cats boss Poyet claims 10 clubs are chasing the former Lazio defender, with Fiorentina joined by fellow Italian sides Palermo, Sampdoria and Inter Milan in a race to sign the Frenchman.

“Diakite has got 10 options,” Poyet told the Sunderland Echo.
