Out of interest do you think we'll get through easily with a second string or just not care if we get knocked out?
no idea. Its game management. I'd like us to progress, yes. But if Meylers owt to go by he, played Thursday, was ****ed when he came on Sunday. Then to ask Hudd and Livermore and others to play Lokeren after playing 75 minutes with 10 men and then Villa on the Sunday its too much. My team has 3 regular starters from last season in the back 4. A good goalie. 2 regular starters in the midfield, prior to Bradys injury, plus Boyd and Ince. With Aluko, another regular prior to injury, and Sagbo up front. If Lokeren are as **** as people say that team should do them.
They were **** but we weren't good enough to beat them. It's not gonna be easy with the scoreline as it is. We hardly ever score 2 but we could end up needing 3. I just don't see why one away game at Villa which we'll be favourites to lose anyway is so important. It's not like resting everyone is going to guarantee us a result, it could go tits up again inside 15 minutes like yesterday. Practically throwing one game because it might give you an advantage later seems daft to me, especially since the cup game is something we might never get another chance at. We'll forget losing to Villa within a week, we always do.
After thinking about it a little I've changed my mind. McGregor Rosey Chezzy Davies Brady Ince Huddlestone Meyler Aluko Jelavic Sagbo Aluko absolutely took the piss out of their right back last week once moved to left wing. Can't see us going much defending so Brady should cope fine as full back and the extra attacking threat could prove deadly.
The problem for us is if they score then we need three, i thought the ticket office would have been open today for a few hours with most people off work, ive just ordered mine on line but you need a user name and password there is still half the ground to fill judging by the seats available, im hoping for a full or near full house to get behind the lads like they did on Sunday
Obviously. If players need to be rested then that can always happen with the League Cup and FA Cup. If Figueroa plays then that's pretty much saying a defeat is acceptable.
With Chester not playing against Villa I'd expect Bruce to play three at the back. Also I'd start Elmo the iron-man to help get us those early goals. Aluko ran rings around their right back so should be up front with Sagbo. Hope we'll really go all out...early goals critical. Harper Chester Davies Rosenior Elmo Ince Meyler Boyd Brady Sagbo Aluko
If we get knocked out on Thursday surely we'll see a fair few outgoings, especially if he brings another 3 in. Personally I think Fig, Boyd, Bruce will be deemed surplus to requirements and Maguire will probably go out on loan
I don't like Brady at left back, he was at fault for Trencin getting their goal, his defensive qualities not good enough.
Agree with this and I can understand the logic Tucker speaks of, but I thought defensive move brought them onto US more and we needed to offer a breakaway threat.
I think he'll go: McGregor Chester Maguire Figueroa Rosenior Meyler Boyd Quinn Brady Aluko Sagbo Subs - Harper, Bruce, Elmohamady, Huddlestone, Livermore, Ince, Jelavic
