On Saturday evening the very lovely Mrs Godders and I had a game of Scrabble rather than watch Match of the Day as we are both pissed off with football but after the first game, which she won because she is very clever, I suggested for a change we should play snakes and ladders. After she had slid down a snake for the second time when almost getting to the winning square she threw the board across the room and said "This is too much like watching the Saints. You patiently work your way almost to the top only to slip all the way back down again". Needless to say the Snakes and Ladders board game is now in the recycling bin and will never be played in this household again as it is far too painful after the close season we have had. From now on lads its no more board games on a Saturday night but its out with the playing cards and strip poker. It is great fun as the very lovely Mrs Godders deliberately loses! She has always been keen to get her clothes off!
The previous council in my town were so incompetent and had such a basic grasp of economics (or as I call it, the Labour school of economics) that despite getting loads of customers, neither of the pound stores lasted long before closing down (they were going at separate times, rather than both at the same time)
The wife and I split our shopping between Aldi and Asda, shops like tescos, morrisons are way expensive. And nothing wrong with poundland as Fran said, also great for sweets, crisps, chocolate then look no further.
30,000 plays on Soundcloud for Fable's second track in a week. Pretty pleased with that. https://soundcloud.com/fablemusic/fable-stranger-in-my-head-1
Yeah, I keep forgetting to go in there. I wrote a post about my Gaggia coffee maker, and saying what a waste of space it is. I buy reasonably good coffee for it like Lavazza and such. Yet the other day I was given an excellent cup of coffee by a customer I laid a carpet for, and when I asked where she got it from she said Poundland..! Yep, it was 99p for a decent tin full. Who'd have thought it..?
An Aldi opened near me, so we went and shopped. We came home and using our Aldi receipt, went on line to Tesco and did a mock online shop. The Tesco equivalent shop was £60, the Aldi one was £38. Aldi gets wrongly called 'Chav supermarket' because it is cheap, however it is a good quality food store that stocks not so well known brands and a lot of European brands. I still get some stuff elsewhere but a lot of produce at Aldi is excellent.
Murray can only play if he gets into a rally...he can't move off the baseline. Just won a game because it seems to be putting Haase off.
Dare I suggest 3D Chess, that used to be featured in Star Trek..? Yes, it is an actual game of chess that works. There are few forms of 3D Chess. The Star Trek version is one of them. The boards are available: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-dimensional_chess#Star_Trek_Tri-Dimensional_Chess http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Star-Trek...Fi_fantasyCollectables_EH&hash=item2c8a239e0b Of course, there's always Backgammon, which is an excellent board game for two.
Murray with one leg has played himself back into the match. Had to change his game and win when he had the chance and the other guy's game has gone. He needs to win now though as he can't play another set surely.
