I think it will be up to Rhodes now, if he want's to play in the EPL then to stay at Blackburn he might have to wait a while, as they are not an outstanding candidate for promotion this season.
Pretty sure there will be financial penalty clauses if Rhodes hands in a request. He is already reportedly on high wages at Blackburn so we won't be offering too much more to bring him here.
I think you have to pay a lot to get a good striker. Once we have a good chance of a top half finish and don't sell our best striker a few weeks before the transfer deadline we wont have to pay over the odds.
If that is the case, I would have thought there would be a counter release clause saying if a EPL comes then at a certain price he can go. If not then he is stuck in a championship side for the next few years if Blackburn don't get promoted. I cannot believe he would not have some get out clause.
I was at the game and as I mentioned earlier it had a real farewell send off feel about it. As he came off Bowyer hugged him for what seemed an abnormally long time whilst whispering in Rhodes' ear the whole time. Of course he could have been saying anything but it did seem strange. I also thought it was odd that they brought him off at 75 mins, when they were 3-0 up and replaced him with a midfielder in David Dunn. They then nearly threw it away at the end.
Hull City manager Steve Bruce says further discussions regarding a deal for Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes will be held, but admits the picture has become clouded.
sky sports news now saying, Blackburn's Jordan Rhodes will not be sold in this transfer window. Time will tell........
And not in Gordon Strachans Scotland squad to face the World Champions Germany in their friendly whilst our new recruit Andrew Robertson is. Its up to him now if he wants to further his career by forcing a move to the Premier League or stay and bide his time in the Championship at Blackburn.
http://www.caughtoffside.com/2014/0...jordan-rhodes-requests-blackburn-rovers-exit/ First suggestion that Rhodes might force the issue.
The ball is in Rhodes' court it seems. As of now, Rhodes is the only factor that could cause this transfer to happen. I would have thought he'd have a quiet word with his manager saying he wants to go.
Whatever happens between us and Rhodes it was pretty terrible decision making from Ipswich Town to have shipped him out in the first place, considering how many goals he has scored ever since departing there, how sick must they be feeling right now?!
I know there's already a Jordan Rhodes thread but, hey, I nodded off trolling through it so here's an update. Well touted on the popular news sites. I still can't get my head around paying £12million (?) for a championship striker but I guess those in the know must have faith to bung this kind of money in. My personal opinion is that he'll make the step up and become a reguler scorer in the premier league. 'Kin 'ope so!!
Unless something has changed in the last couple min all the articles today say that he will hand in a transfer request not that he actually has handed in a transfer request. All the articles that mention it at all as most say that he will not leave Blackburn. Its all just media speculation.
He was **** for them though. It'd be the same for us if Tom Cairney became a star player and was to be a Premier League player very soon. Oh, wait.
He took a guess yesterday that it would happen. The Mail or someone like that put out an article saying Rhodes was going to hand a transfer request in but there havent been more than 1 or 2 articles saying the same thing.
