That is because tactically that is what the game needs.

Its not all about famous names and fantasy league.

And Gerrard is a top player.

Yeah, to make it worse- last placed I worked WAS a bank- we got all sorts of little holidays off... I'd much rather be where I am now though- pay is much better, much more relaxed atmosphere... yes, I have to work more days, but it's more enjoyable to be here.

I agree about Johnson, when I see his name on the team sheet I thought oh FFS.

He must have some secret info about BR. There literally no other valid reason for playing him

I guess having Johnson in there is just about having that experience of playing in big games. With Moreno coming in as well, if Mankiller started, you've have 3 defenders all new to the club and never having played with each other.

Consistency at the back is important and I wouldn't want u to keep changing things around every game.

Our first team looks so much weaker than City.

I would be happy with a draw.

Hopefully Demichelis goes back to his early season form of last year and not the 2nd half/WC form where he was very good

United's looked so much weaker away to Sunderland's yesterday, but they still snatched a draw.

I suppose. But we all know when we inevitably concede a goal/s tonight, it'll almost certainly be because Johnson was either too lazy to track back, or was completely out of position.

Obviously. They are far superior to us, like I said 3-1 to city sadly.

Our team was so much weaker last year and we should've won or at least drawn last year

i get that, what i don't get is the fact he is still ****e even though allegedly experienced, so what is the point of that experience? he is useless.

if he gets the winner tonight well i will eat my words <diva> more chance of him being responsible for a **** up though lol.

not convinced personally its because of his experience in big games, as we have seen how little that effects things, and we had flanno last season who had none.

Yup, not saying I agree with him playing, just trying to think of a reason why, as a collective he might have been picked ahead of a 20 year old with 1 game for us under his belt.

hopefully with Sterling down his side he normally helps out defensively.

Maybe if he plays ****, it doesn't matter as much as if a 20 year old kid plays **** and damages his confidence for the next game?

I hate it when people compare our squad to Chelsea's or City's <doh>

He's been lucky to have Sterling ahead of him. If we played a lazy winger on his side he'd be found out even more often. Maybe Borini should play ahead of him :p

Johnson had an OK game last weekend (LB his best pos) but he's usually terrible. Allen, I'm comfortable off the bench but not to start. He's not going to stop their attacking play.

Gerrard is inconsistent. He's capable of fantastic moves, but not really ideal in his new role.

That said: Man Quill for Johnson would be an improvement no matter how you look at it.
Can on instead of Allen would improve us defensively and help anchor the midfield- something Allen can't do.

you mean a bit like playing smith out of position against Chelsea type thing?

don't think he has come back from that has he?

although i would still rather keep with the 20 yr old and hope he gets better, seen enough of johnson to know he will remain ****, he has an average game its considered good.

not good enough for a player on stupid money.

BBC Salford writing us off already.

Sneak a win? No chance of us winning comfortable then...
Not that I think we will win comfortably, but you'd think they'd try and stay a little bit impartial <doh>
