Will the FFP rules now favour clubs like United, Arsenal and the RS ?

    A genuine question.

Chelsea and City have for years bought the best players at very high prices. No other club could compete with them in the market. They did not need to make a profit as they were not being run like a business. Their expenditure would bear no relationship to their income. The likes of arsenal, United, the RS - clubs that wanted to run football along business lines had no chance. The field was clear for them.

Now under FFP rules, clubs can only spend according to income parameters. Chelsea and City ( and PSG Monaco ) whose owners have massive wealth have to watch what they spend on players. Clubs like United with massive incomes can now spend massively and buy players at high prices. And pay them accordingly.

We have started seeing the FFP effect. PSG had to drop out of the di Maria auction. Because bidding more than United even though the owners wanted to would have broken the FFP rules. And arsenal and the RS are buying more expensive players

This will redress the balance somewhat. Will United, Arsenal and the RS take advantage ?

Liverpool failed FFP last year, but as they technically weren't in the champions league it didn't effect them.

Chelsea on the other hand has always complied with FFP <ok>

Chelsea and Liverpool sail very close to the danger zone. City (and Barca) have both been penalised, but in all honesty, it was a slap on the wrist by an arthritic granny

Routemaster now are safe with FFP, but they will not be able to compete with UTD due to UTDs massive income, ££££ and Pool will suffer most

I know that the RS have been spending like mad in the last 10 years to try to catch up but I thought they had done so within the FFP rules. That Chelsea have complied more than them is really surprising. Have the RS been spending beyond their means with virtually nothing to show for it, except one season in the CL ?
