I was wondering how long it was gonna take before the whole Anti-muslin / racism thing would kick in from the Hull Scum

True to form, here it is.
They will be hillarious again soon with their witty "Town full of Bombers" chant. Classy. when in fact, if you went to hull you'd think the bombers had already struck their only days before...

Best thing to come out of Hull i can think of is the motorway.... <ok>

Good luck for the rest of the season Hull Tigers <ok>

Funny story for you re.hull. During WW2 a group of U.S planes took off from Lincolnshire on a raid. Being the U.S.A.F they got a little confused and as they few across the Humber they thought they were flying across the channel. On seeing Hull they thought it was their recently already bombed target area and let their own bombs go. Just goes to show that historically it has always looked like a bombsite and that it isn't a new phenomenon.

The RAF and the Commonwealth crews flew at night knowing the Yanks wouldn't / couldn't do likewise.
I've been told by many ex crews that as much as we appreciated their efforts, you'd just never fly anywhere near them cause they'd shoot you down.

Nothing much has changed then. I've a mate in the Royal Marines and he said they were afraid to go near them in Afghanistan because they were very trigger happy. Figured they'd watched too many "good guys - bad guys" movies and just wanted to start shooting.

My grandmothers brother was an R.A.F pilot during the war and I have heard very much the same from him via family.

Funny was it that hundreds were killed and thousands of homes destroyed as the Luftwaffe dropped surplus bombs after bombing the likes of Coventry, its so funny we were the most bombed area outside of London and because it was a security question the name of the place was never mentioned, just mentioned as an East Coast town. I'll remember your comments when I next visit the memorial in honour of those that died during those bombing raids and you have the nerve to call Hull comments scum?

What does it matter to you, we're a town full of bombers anyway and as for your claim to be the most bombed place outside London, I'm afraid you mistaken. That honour goes to Liverpool. Know your history before you spout off some crap to try and justify you anti south attitude. Also just so you know, most of my mums family are from Leeds, Harrogate, Castleford and Ilkly and there opinion of the place is close to my own, so it's not a north/south thing in the slightest. My fathers family were from Romford and Dagenham and many members of his family died in the dock bombing during the war so I'm well qualified to rip the piss out of you. Next, I go to the cenotaph every year and have never missed a year since I was 12. I show YOU no respect but have plenty for those that show respect for others. Not something I have come across from any Hull (Tigers) City fan on the QPR part of this forum. Let me finish by saying go blow a Donkey, your mouth is big enough.

Edit: I will retract the anti south attitude thing as you haven't actually shown that personally yet, but many of your compatriots do so for the wider readers of this it is still somewhat relevant.

And you think Wiki know more than Churchill himself, as it is his personal memories that I draw on in his books called "The second world war." 6 volumes, all thicker than a king James bible, published in 1948. It doesn't have an ISBN number as the copies I have are from before the ISBN system was introduced. (first editions handed down to me from my grandfather) I'd go find the volume number and page numbers for you but in truth I've better things to do with my time than humour you. Feel free to check it out if you want to though. Also The Imperial War Museum might be a good place to look and the national records office. I'll leave you to research your inaccurate knowledge but I will expect an apology when you find out your sadly mistaken.

1st Edit: Something you are accurate on is the fact it was kept secret so the country didn't panic.

2nd Edit: Also worth mentioning that the bibliography of the Wiki page shows it's not taken from the greatest historical sources.

3rd Edit: When saying Liverpool that also include Birkenhead as obviously both sides of the Mersey where hit. The reason Liverpool/Birkenhead was so badly hit was because it was the home of the merchant fleet and main landing place of the food supplies that Hitler was trying to deprive us of.

Slinging insults and statistics can go on forever but what gets my goat is the London central press constantly slag off the City Of Hull and in the case of Hull City we never win, its the other side who loses. Even in the county of Yorkshire we don't get a fair crack of the whip so to speak, take the latest grand plan for the North of England, road and rail projects that run into the millions, all fall short of reaching Hull, the rail modernisation stops at Selby the road investment stops at Leeds. If we had a fraction of the money available to London then much modernisation could be done, which according to your relatives it sorely needs, but it won't happen. And its never ending, yes a chip on my shoulder certainly but its down to nearly 60 years of experience. I'm glad you edited your first post when I was classed as anti south, for the record, the south, including London, has bad as well as good areas and I travel down every year as time as finances permit, but Hull was an important port, and still is, so why is Liverpool mentioned and not Hull by name? As for the sources of information on Wiki, maybe with your Churchill volumes, one the most revered people in the history of Britain, you should edit the information given and correct what is printed.

We don't put trains or roads as far as Hull because we don't want to go there ,pretty simple.

Fair play to you sir. I do have much sympathy for places that get overlooked as you have pointed out. My other half is Scottish and without opening the whole independence debate up. (she would vote no if she was being given a vote but cos she's not there, it seems her opinion doesn't count) and there are many places in Scotland that suffer a similar outcome. Neglect of any kind is morally reprehensible. As for Wiki, not enough years left in my life to start that battle. (and I'm only 41)

As for the Norwich fan...... At least Hull has a port and is useful in some way. Norwich is just a breading ground for webbed toed, incestuous, sister lovers. I'd take Hull over Norwich any day and as you have read, Hull isn't high on my places to visit. (Just making a point Re. Norwich. C'mon Ref. Not picking at scabs with you.)

Also Ref. I have as little time for the press as you probably do. But don't let them taint you view of most people down here. We are not represented by them either. The media is its own animal with it's own agendas.

Is this so? Well that is odd, she is Scottish (or is it Scotts?) and her vote matters as much as those north of the border, most strange and unfair. And point taken about the media, I'm well aware that they print what will sell the most but after years and years of it, it does become tiring. Best wishes.
