    H's staying apparently.

Means he could be available for free next year, but will probably have a host of clubs lining up for him.

I would say he doesn't look very happy, but then again he is training alone on match day.

Do they think he would be too much of a distraction training along side them? I would have thought for team-building would have been good if he could join them, even if he can't take part in the game today.

Obviously some of the drills he couldn't have taken part in, but, for the general fitness, etc, it would have been beneficial. Even just as an observer would have been nice.

Not sure I like that he is training alone on such an important day even if he can't take part.

More likely the squad aren't training, preparation for the game and travelling later.

Still would perhaps have been nicer if he could have been an observer. As a former City player, he might have some insightful information and advice to offer to the squad too.

More useful with them than training alone.

Where is Coates for example- he hasn't left on loan yet... he's probably with the first team, but isn't likely to get even a sub berth.

He's not really training, was just a fitness thing.

The squad are on their way to prepare for the game and Sky are saying he'll travel to the match to watch with 5 other non playing member later on.

Sorry but fed up with the "**** off Borini" crap. End of day not one of you would tear up a contract and go get paid half what you are currently; while having to move house just because the manager fancies using other staff.

Borini hasn't done anything wrong. He turns up for training and he made himself available for work. To talk ****e about isolating him in the work place to force him out? If you are a manager or employer....good luck at those tribunals.....

If we don't want him and can't offer an attractive alternative we pay him off.
...or keep paying him. Thats the choices , bullying him is not an option and lacks class. Our club is better than that.

I fecking hate Johnson but I'd defend his right to have his contract honoured too. End of day...the club took the risks and should pay for it.

Worlds gone mad when supporters defend players who agitate for their "dream move" regardless of how shifty they treat the club and fans but hey, let's slagg off guys who want to do what they signed up for......even if it's not good enough.

He will still attend the game.

Footballers have a very strict match day routine, which includes set meal times and for evening games, an afternoon sleep.

City have changed a lot since Balotelli's time.

That argument doesn't stack up when it comes to footballers. They earn so much money that they aren't going to be struggling taking a 50% pay cut. Of course I wouldn't go to a job where I earn 50% of what I earn now, I wouldn't be able to live.

If I was earning £40k a week to sit around and do nothing, therefor harming my future employment when that contract comes to an end, I think I'd rather take a cut in wages and actually work therefore increasing my chances of getting another contract at that company, or another company.

However, saying that, I do think we are fickle as fans. We moan when a player shows no loyalty to the club, then bitch and moan that we want a player gone when they say they want to stay and fight for their place. Before the season I said I was happy for Borini to stay, I thought he had something to offer us. Yes, he may not core 15 goals but he does have a bit of pace and his movement is good creating spaces for others. However, he's not worth £14m and that's the thing. If he stays and has an average season for us (given how much competition he has) his value is only going to decrease.

That's not strictly true - footballers still have mortgages on houses etc so do live like we do but on a completely different scale, halving his wage would certainly have an impact on what he currently does.

He's only going to be able to carry £2500 on him at any time now because he's only half rich.

<laugh> poor ****er, bit harsh to make him pay for the beers then <whistle>

how do their mortgages work then, assuming its going to be similar to self employed people where its not a guaranteed income, as there wages maybe set for the length of the contract they are currently on, but its not a long term thing is it.
