The fact Brucey took off Ince when he did suggests he will start along with Sagbo and Aluko. Chester being suspended for the following Sunday suggests he will start alongside McGuire. Quinessta to start with Meyler in midfield, Griggsy in goal leaves 3 places up for grabs. Hope Robertson gets the nod ahead of Figgy and personally would put the likes of Hudds and Curtis in to give the team a strong spine.
yeah i reckon our attack will be Ince Sagbo and Aluko , kinda picks itself theres usually a lot of talk from managers/coaches about burning out young players and for that reason only i think Robertson will be rested in place of Brady or Figgy
Agree, as far as Robertson concerned I think he is now in SB mind as the regular left wing back for the EPL, so he will be saved for Sunday at Villa.
GK: McGregor CB: Chester, Maguire, Figueroa LWB: Brady RWB: Rosenior CM: Meyler, Huddlestone, Boyd ST: Aluko, Sagbo
I can't believe anyone still thinks Europe is anywhere near Brucey's mind during Premier League games, which are clearly his priority. He took off Ince for logical tactical reasons, not to save him for Thursday.
--------------- McGregor ------ Chester - Maguire - Davies (Fig*) Rosenior - Huddlestone - Meyler - Brady ----------------- Aluko ------- Ince ------------- Sagbo Chester suspended for Villa game so will play, would rest McShane as he just played Thur-Sun. *Davies should complete the back 3 for me to settle the defence, and he didn't play last Thursday, but I expect Bruce to put Figueroa in there. Rosenior and Brady should start for fitness reasons (Elmo and Robertson must be knackered after yesterday) and Meyler fresh for the centre. Huddlestone I'd like to see start as his game doesn't involve a lot of running all over the pitch anyway, Sagbo and Aluko are certain to start and Ince is probably the next freshest forward. I'm sure Boyd will start over someone I've named (as will Figueroa most likely) but he's looked so rusty I'd rather have him on the bench. We do need to keep fitness in mind for Villa 4 days after the Lokeren game but with a 2 week international break following that there's plenty of time for most to recover after Villa. Need to keep some of our core players in the squad this time, not a full rotation and not shoving people in to an untried formation.
I'll be pissed off if anyone is rested in Thursday. We've got a massive task to win by two goals. **** Villa away we might lose that anyway. Take it one game at a time and pick your best team for the biggest match of the season. We took a chance in the away leg and we can't afford to do it again.
Villas more important than some of you lot wanting jollies in Europe. Hudd was fycking nackered yesterday, rest him for villa.
Why is it more important? We've got 30 odd more chances to pick up PL points. Lokeren is knockout football and it's one of our biggest games ever.
Lokeren has to take priority over Villa. They showed in the away fixture how bad they are and a team with a bit of inventiveness and cutting edge should easily be enough to turn around a one goal deficit but that ridiculous thing masquerading as a team on Thursday proved it didn't offer anything to get a result. We need both Huddlestone and Jelavic in there. I'd go 4 at the back and attack them from the off, we should easily be able to overpower them at home. McGregor Rosenior Chester Davies Figueroa Ince Huddlestone Meyler Brady Jelavic Aluko If/when we take control of the tie and give ourselves a cushion then get Huddlestone, Jelavic and Davies off, but not until then.
Need to ****ing go for this game, forget the league for a minute and injury concerns, we might never get this opportunity again.. play the best team available and ****ing go for the win!
