Rather keep Markovic on the bench. If you're playing him along with Sturridge, Sterling & Coutinho, then it's a very attacking team and could be a bit too much, especially if only having Gerrard & Hendo in the middle.
doesn't surprise me as was told he was quick. i remember few seasons ago, think it was robinson, he kept up with walcott for an entire game and had the better of him in that dept, and walcott is supposed to be classed as quick yet robinson gets no mention.

It's funny... I was listening to an interview with Bolt one morning on the radio, and he was talking about when he retires from sprinting he plans on playing for Manchester United. He's very... ummm... confident of himself. Never played professional football- but is convinced that he can immediately step right into United's squad when he retires from sprinting (he's already 28). The funny thing is, the way United are going... he's probably right. Edit: I was curious what age sprinters usually retire so did a google- and did even better... found that Bolt himself says he plans to retire after 2016 Olympics... So as a 30 year old with no experience- he plans on stepping straight into playing for United!
I don't expect to challenge for the title again this season, but, it is possible that today is the biggest game of the season, and we don't even know it yet!
nah... its just the biggest game of the season thus far... you cannot look back to city and chelsea and hull at christmas time last year and say.. lfc lost the league because... you can look at chelsea 0-2 and say there it is. There are 36 games after this one and with all the swings and roundabouts the game is just another game.. far to far out to worry about. When city and cheslea win the first 12/15 games or soemthing that'll decide the title contenders not just one game,
No need to be nervous, we aren't expected to win tonight and I don't think we will. Want some positives though, a better display than last week is a must and hopefully Markovic to come off the bench and be a lot better than I'm expecting.
That doesn't make it any better though! If this were mid-season and the three points lost dropped us at most a spot in the table there wouldn't be huge worry at losing away to the team that will probably win the league. This is game 2 though- and three points are massive. The difference between being top and being midtable... Which may sound immaterial at this stage, and in many ways it is, however, I think there is a lot of confidence and momentum to be gained from an early-season successful run.
helps if you have an easy fixture list to start with then random as far as this game goes, i will be pleasantly surprised and happy with a draw, if we win somehow it is going to lead to silly comments about us being title contenders which most on here don't believe, but wont stop the media hyping it up lol.
Draws are funny things. We sometimes think we'd be happy ahead of time to get one; but right after a game you always think... "oh we were so close to the win... if only player x hadn't scuffed that one easy shot wide". / player x is Johnson by the way! If City go 2-0 up and we draw- I'll be over the blue moon. If we're smashing City 0-2 at half time and they come back and win I'll be devastated Right now I'd take 1 point... but half way through the City game I might not!
yeah i get you, and certainly last season that would have been the case, just don't think we are going to be in a similar scenario for the title this one, teams around us have improved and yes we have, but i would say that was only true as far as squad goes, we have lossed a world class player who could do anything in a game at any minute, hoping ballo might bring that back, but right now i see us as top 4 no more sadly, squad has improved, but first team is weaker in my opinion, unless we get the right balotelli turn up obviously.
You gang of pragmatic batards! Of course you should expect any side wearing our red jersey to go out and play well enough to win. If they do or they don't we'll discover in a few hours.
That's the spirit Dave, send them all your positive vibes You were 12th man last year, keep it going.
