WOULD YOU JUST TRY PLAYING THE HOUSEMARTINS 'CARAVAN OF LOVE' VERY LOUDLY, JUST BEFORE KICK OFF, ON THURSDAY NIGHT PLEASE? If it doesn't catch on immediately, give it another couple of games then bin the idea. But anyone who has been at a private 'do' where City fans are in the majority or were lucky enough to be on the North Sea Ferry going across to Lokeren on Wednesday night, and heard this song played, will know that THIS IS THE CLUB SONG we have been looking for. Just give it a try. Suck it and see.
It's been tried a few times over the years, with tweaks on occasions going back to "join the transit van from 'ull" "We're 'ull City don't you know" but I think it struggles as it doesn't have a short loop to repeat. Solve that, and I reckon it works well.
Had that boat rocking on Wednesday night, and it wasn't the waves. Also heard it sang by Eddie Falconer on stage with Nicky Barmby at a private 'do' at the KC and the roof nearly blew off the place. Hairs on the back of your neck stuff. Agree it needs shortening, but that comes naturally, just the chorus, and 'He's your brother.......she's your sister......' It's the best I've heard, and I've heard a few. This one is ours. All I'm asking is the club give it a go. If it flops on its arse, then so be it. At least let's not bin it without giving it a go.
It's a shame we didn't have his number when the seat move was pending. Then I guess it's depend if fans had the number too.
Could maybe edit it so that you get " you better get ready we're coming " first? Then in with " every woman every man " was singing it in the square on thurs and even some lokeren fans joined in.
Great stuff. The atmosphere on the ferry was brilliant and that song got the best reception by far. Really hope they do play it. I still like the Elvis one though cos we've sung it for a while and everyone in Hull recognises it as a City song, even if other clubs also sing it.
I didn't call him, I just sent him a message, his email address is on the club website for anyone too stupid to find it for themselves. There's some seriously bitter little sadsacks on here(not you Cortez).
Nope. Simply pointing out that broader communication with fans could benefit all. After all, we don't have a viable spokesperson representing fans at these pivotal times. Unless you're saying you were speaking to James on the seat move?
Nobody spoke to James about the seat move, nobody knew it was happening until after it was done, as you've been told a hundred ****ing times.
Seriously, having a 'club song' piped to you over a tannoy is bollocks. Hence getting away from this Elvis mackem **** we are now having piped at us every game. **** the tannoy.
So how do you suggest going about it, considering one of the most famous fan based songs (You'll never walk alone) is over a tannoy
