Who cares what the result of their referendum is? If they do vote to leave the Union then I want to ensure that whoever is in government in the remainder of the UK has to put the terms of the secession to a referendum in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. After all no government has been given a manadate by the people to actually agree any such terms!
I don't care either but what I find laughable is a QPR supporter coming on to the Spurs board and suggesting to a Spurs supporter to keep his mouth shut. Why doesn't he just stay on his own board.
Didn't mean any offence Thor lad. Sometimes my posts can come across as very confrontational but I was enjoying our debate! Fair play to you. I do think the break up of the Union will have a negative effect on all parties though if I'm honest. Hopefully the Sweaty's will realise this and vote NO which I think they will
What are the two shades in reference to (light and dark) and who drew up the map? The bottom right part looks particularly wonky, for some reason.
The Blair government (no doubt in anticipation of a Scottish referendum) quietly annexed some of Scotlands international waters therefore the lighter area is or will be under dispute. International law is very clear so it should be fairly simple to sort out after Independence.
Spurf, you haven't explained to me yet how Scotland's defence and NHS services will survive. They can't simply be severed off from the rest of the UK when provision is so integrated at present. Scotland can't suddenly provide specialist healthcare only available in other parts of the UK presently; Scotland can't suddenly afford Trident (if it wants it. What will happen?
Luke, NHS Scotland is already run by Scotland, After Independence Scotland will have far more, yes far more money so this will not be a problem. As for specialists care Scotland is way ahead in heart care for example, so there will continue to be sharing of knowledge and services as there is now. We don't want trident btw more 100's millions of savings.
You are joking Boss This is the man that raided my private pension and reduced its value by 70%. He's just worried about his nice little House of Lords number. £300 a day plus expenses. How far would I trust him? how far could I throw him?
Yes, I have always had a very low opinion of politicians in general. Brown achieved something I didn't think possible - he lowered it even further!.. A cynical opportunist of the worst kind.
That's the exceptionally Scottish Gordon Brown that we're talking about, right? And he took over from some bloke that was born and largely educated in Edinburgh, didn't he?
....and, why do you need independence when it looks as though England has been subjected to a clandestine reverse take over by you jocks? Blair, Brown, Cameron? Hmmm ......very suspicious!...

"Ah yes, , HBOS & RBS. Are these possibly the same two banks that Salmond was lauding only a few short years ago as "two of the world's largest banks. Scotland has leaders in the world for today, tomorrow, and for the long term" ? the same RBS that he hailed as "a giant of The Celtic Lion economy"? He seems to have gone awfully quiet on that subject!" What is it about the arrogance of Scotch politniks that they are so quick to pin their colours to that particular mast ??
Scottish independence: Five unresolved questions http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28870669 Tonight see's the second TV debate after Alistair Darling won the first debate and this is Salmonds chance to fight back and make a better case for Yes after he failed in the first debate.
