We were relegated without the King's back heel, it made no difference.

Makes good copy though of course. Like Keane kicking Haalands right knee ended his career with an injured left knee.

Snag is Chief, as with all the WUM comments, why let the facts ruin a good story?

This may not go down well on this board mate but you have said the unpalatable truth (for some) here.

The "markedly over the top" is so obvious that it is like saying "the property market is ridiculously over valued" in London.

I think that di Maria if he does come here will be a fantastic buy, a great coup and a possible catalyst for the whole club. This does not blind me to the fact that were it any other club other than United the fee would probably have been £45-50m. That is nearly £20m over priced.

Why the f** should Man United ( and other) fans be bothered about that ? Rooney is being paid £250k a week. Is he worth it? Anyone who thinks he has played that money's worth is a moron. He was only paid that because United were desperate and they didn't want him to go the chavs. It is all GGs money, they are now desperate to spend and spend. Before anyone feels sorry for them, they and the club have the means (!) to recoup that money and then some. The money united can still splash out under FFP rules dwarfs the likes of PSG Monaco City and Chelsea. Even real and Barca have to watch the pennies. Not so united and the GGs. The GGs are now having to splash money they had saved under ferguson.

I said in last summer and in January that the Pratt Woodward and Moyes just need to identify the players they need and give the asking price. Negotiations would be a waste of time. Other clubs watch the matches too and they are not going to drop prices when they know you are desperate.

Let's spend more of the GGs f**ing money. Nearer the £300m I said was needed but some way to go <ok>

And for those who say the club therefore the f**ing GGs are being financially screwed, I say: That's great news. :)

Really wasn't wumming ... I don't actually think you will be involved in the relegation scrap - because LVG will have transformed the team by then - but you have lost to Swansea and could have easily lost yesterday - to two clubs that pre-season were amongst the 5 'bookies' favourites for relegation...

My club, Leicester City, are very likely to be involved in that relegation scrap ... but our performances against Everton and Chelsea, particularly defensively, not just in terms of effort but also quality, leave grounds for encouragement and optimism ... the defensive performance from United yesterday was truly awful and until addressed you are going to need to score a brace every game in order to win, because you look like you will certainly concede - that was why I mentioned the relegation scrap ... draws are not enough to survive in this league and your defence, currently, is about as solid as a morning dump after 15 pints of lager and a vindaloo ... it stinks as much too <laugh>.

As I posted on the other Di Maria thread, I think Vlaar and Blind could be acquired for the same money and, at this point, would be a better use of the money ...

A Skunk taking the piss over the size of the fee paid for a a World star?

Tash, your club hasn't even got a striker worth of the title you f**ing halfwit.

Di Maria is massively over priced though, old Ed hasn't exactly got the hang of this negotiation lark has he? <laugh>

Good point Tobes, If we sent Woodward to Crete to negotiate 10 bottles of Raki, it would cost us 5 grand. The guy is useless beyond belief

This is the understatement of the year. <ok> <laugh>

Total useless Pratt. If I said he was just a bungling f**ing accountant, I'd be insulting to accountants.

He is the guy who helped the GGs grab united a few years ago. So I have no sympathy whatsoever for him.

In the days of Gill and ferguson before the GGs United would identify at least 2 even three players to be bought for any position. If one is massively overpriced and they were not willing to pay that price then they would threaten to move to the next player.

But Woodward is a glorified bookkeeper. So to expect him to negotiate for a good deal for a player is like expecting clown Balotelli to bring the RS the title. Totally absurd <ok>

He's a great signing AND over-priced. Two aren't mutually exclusive. Story of all your recent dealings (maybe Fellaini aside, who was just overpriced.

Fellaini £28m - about £8m too much at the time
    Mata £37m - about £12m too much
    Herrera £29m - about £13m too much
Shaw - £8m or so too much but understandable if he stays for 10+ years
Rojo - £6m or so too much but there were third parties etc
Di Maria - about £30m too much - crazily inflated fee. Only Ronaldo was worth his 'mega fee'.

Fully expect them all to succeed (at least to a degree) but the money is astronomical. Maybe fans shouldn't care - but I never understood this behaviour as the 'United' way?

EDIT: Think I'll need a disclaimer for the softer posters - Yes, I, Master Yoda, accept that Liverpool do the same thing.

That is f**ing obvious. I have said ages ago that all united acquisitions post ferguson will be significantly overpriced. When United come calling the fee goes up. It was always like that and as expected it is now even more so.

Is the lack of quality youth disappointing?

Thought that CB Keane looked decent but it can't be good if Blackett has climbed above him?

Januzaj is obviously talented but wasteful and over-confident (not yet good enough to be arrogant).

Spent less than liverpool have, Chelsea have, spurs have, city have.

Earn more than all the above clubs
Won more than all the above clubs

    Rivals are jealous. Quite obvious.
