I appreciate that Brucey complains about the throw in for Stoke which never was leading up to their goal; however just before that we lost possession with a wayward cross field pass from Boyd without which Stoke wouldn't have been attacking us anyway! Up to now him and Brady well off the pace. Brady has cost us more possession than any outfield player up to now I reckon with his 2 performances against Trencin. Overall v pleased with the start to the season, yesterdays performance with 10 men deserved the 3 points, bl**dy terrific.
Exactly what I said at the time it was Boyd's misplaced pass that started the chain of events that lead to the goal.
At least the extra Europa League games are allowing a number of these players to get up to match fitness/form but hopefully not at the expense of staying in the competition.
Hundreds of events led to the goal. Shame the last two games we have missed out due to a ref and a mistake and nearly robbed of two points dawn sarf. Joke
We never defend throw ins well. We're even worse at taking them. In fact, in terms of tactics surrounding take throw ins, I think we're about the worst team I've ever seen. It'd be a shame to lose Boyd (he's on the fringes, I can see Brucey letting him leave), he's a great little player and anybody blaming him for the goal yesterday is really harsh. But I think once Brady gets up to speed he'll keep him out the squad and if we're going to be looking at a loan winger (plus the remergence of Quinn), it's gonna get really tricky for him.
I have never understood why we are rubbish at taking throw ins. No matter who has managed us, even going back as far as Peter Taylor we have been awful at taking them. No movement, bad passes straight after them, something really should change.
I blame Elmo for being **** at diving nowt worse than a diving **** whose piss poor at actually diving - also Junior Lewis must have had summat to do with that Stoke goal yesterday.
