Im starting to think we would be better out of it tbh, yes its lovely traveling around Europe, and the poss of playing in big stadiums and getting to the group stages..

But for me, in all honesty we are not ready for that, and we are not going go far in the Comp, im not being negative...

and staying up is far more important, and i dont think we have the squad size to cope, we are 5/6 players short for a Europa League run..

I know a lot wont agree with me, but going out on Thu could be a massive blessing

Keep smiling Tigers, we are 5th in the table and unbeaten, dream start to the season, and plenty to build on with a few new players in the building, we can feel alot more secure

We should have beaten Stoke quite comfortably despite playing on Thursday, what damage has Europe done?

We shouldn't have entered the competition if we weren't going to take it seriously. We can rotate some of the players and still put out good sides. In the group stage the games are every two weeks so it's not a ridiculous burden. We should put out our best team on Thursday and try to get into the group stage.

Second Europa leg on Thursday; away at Villa on Sunday.

I think things will be a tad clearer after those two games.......

League position means absolutely nothing at this point.

This just sounds like a thread created to try and give a positive spin to a possible exit on Thursday.

Both in the League and any cup competitions the defence needs to stop giving the ball to the other side, that's what the focus should be now, as well as getting players in so we are better up front than last season rather than worse. And getting into good habits in the cup competitions will only help the league. It would breed confidence.

Also playing against stronger teams will help to improve some players and put this team on the map more, important in trying to bring in players. Apart from the fact that this isn't an opportunity that comes around every year.

If we are to continuing improving and expanding as a club then being involved in European competition is essential. Qualification doesn't come along with the next number ten bus either.
We have waited all of our lives to be involved on this stage.
We need a squad to compete in the Premier League and the European games give us a wonderful opportunity to play all the players in serious competitive football.
If we were in decent competitive reserve league then it may be different.
But we aren't so lets enjoy it and if we are in the competition let's try and win it.

Eh? Of course it does, it means we've got more points than teams below us and less than the ones above us. Start, middle or end of season, the more points the better.

We should be aiming to win every game in every competition we're competing in.

The games in Zilina and Lokeren are two of the best aways I've ever done, long may they continue.

If we go out the Europa league on Thursday it's time for big fat head to bugger off.

I was critical of the team that Bruce picked last week but Bruce's interview following made sense to me.

He said if they are going to have any kind of team spirit, then the squad players need to have an opportunity to play. This makes absolute sense when you look at the spirit the team demonstrated yesterday to play most of the game with ten men.

I suspect it won't be our strongest 11 on Thursday but I would be surprised if Chester, Davies, thudd and jelly didn't start.

I can't understand anyone wanting us to get knocked out of the Europa League. I really can't.

I'd want his head on a stake and his limbs sent to the four corners of the country.

This is an opportunity that is highly unlikely to come round again in a hurry and I will be gutted if we don't go all out to get through on Thursday and I would think the players will feel this way too. We can rotate if and when we get to the group stage but for now we're talking about them managing to play Thursday and Sunday before having a week or so off for the international break. For those that will be playing for their country that week let them be knackered for them - think these are only friendlies anyway.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Didn't got to Trencin, but Lokeren (for what i can remember) was the best trip i've been on following city.

You'll be complaining if we pass up this opportunity to go where we've never been before, for dull season & lower midtable finish & picking up of the check from the Premier League.

You'll rue it even more if, in a few years, we end up as a run of the mill mid table premier league side, who don't show any ambition in the domestic cups, or worse still get relegated and become a bang average championship club.

Very Wummingish - Mr Hat is a shoe-in to be the next Professor of Wumming at Oxford, Cambridge, or Hull, the three pinnacles of academia if Black Adder serves me correct.

From someone supporting the team since 1989 I would have never have thought I would see the day when a Hull City fan would be complaining about Europe. For me it is great and Bruce should take it a little more seriously especially when we are not even in the competition yet and to all those fans that make the journey and spend hundreds just to watch the second string. Its not the League cup, Its the Europa League.
