Good Morning everyone for a wet and blustery Southampton, But that won't dampen our spirits, only one man has the power to do that...... And his name is............ Dave.... Going down at the weekend by four goals to one to a mediocre Watford team proves once and for all; we have not turned the corner. Bellusci will serve just a one match ban for his last ditch professional foul on the Watford forward when he broke clear, whereas Byram will serve three for his read card, unless the club decide to appeal it Sure there was shouting and screaming coming from Cellino's direction following the final whistle, but there needs to be more then that. Reading between the line's it seems probable that Dave slipped a sedative in Cellino's drink, and by the time he came too, the Italian had calmed down. Furthermore Celino wants to give Dave more time to be able to complete the squad. Looking at the amount of signings that have been made, I cannot remember any manager making as many signings as Cellino / Hockaday. Berardi Bellusci Bianchi Benedicic Doukara Silvestri Antennuci Doukara Sharp Ajose Cooper With all these signings, we still persist in starting with players like Tonge and Austin. Why? We have seven days to make new signings!!! Sloth, the Danish international midfielder will sign in the next 48 hours for £750,000. Why so cheap? He's in his final year of his contract!
Morning Elland. I'll get my speak in before the dark clouds descend. Hopefully Cellino has the means and the knowledge to buy a quality midfield this week. I suspect it'll be a busy few days ahead with ins and outs. Soon Dave will have no excuses left and hell either sink or swim. Either way well know soon enough. Enough your bank holiday lads, no such luck here
Good morning Matt and co from a rather cloudy dull Cote de Bardsey the weather seems to reflect out teams performances. One never knows we may just get a couple of good players that will transform the team I hope so Byram should appeal against his sending off I wondered if MIGHTY would give me some advice I am thinking health permitting of driving to Sardinia in Dec through to Feb is it expensive do ferries run there in winter I would be driving down anything really including places to visit and stay I do hope Sloth signs he seems to be what we need some one with ability to read the game our lot are blind! MIKE
The problem I have is that Hock will be sacked before long, and the reason Cellino gave him the job was because he knows everything about coaching in England? No chance, it was a bad mistake by Cellino and one he will have to deal with soon. Secondly Cellino has brought in 11 players and are we to believe that most of these are not good enough for Leeds? No chance although a couple are for the future but they're either good enough or they're not and if they're not then Cellino's to blame and has wasted his money. Whatever Cellino says, he will have torn Hock a new one and now we have a coach under even more pressure. Pressure he couldn't deal with in the first place. I suspect that Cellino is sorting out a replacement as we speak because he knows the hammer will fall after the Bradford or Bolton games. Sad and I'm sorry for Hock but he's an anchor around our necks.
Morning all... Bellusci - At least his suspension can be served against Bradford and back for the weekend Byram - I haven't been impressed with him, Berardi is back so he has 3 games to cement the RB position down Sloth - I have a feeling he will make a BIG difference lets hope he signs I am also hopeful on Adryan this week, looking forward Berardi Bellusci Cooper Warnock at the back and Adryan and Sloth in the middle, Sharp up front and we have the foundations for a very decent looking squad
Morning Eire, Sloth is no slouch!! I know that's a contradiction in term, but there you go. He's a 1.5m -2m midfielder. We got him cheap cos he's in his final year of his contract
Good morning Ristac I totally endorse what you say same back 4 lets hope the 2 young midfielders sign
Morning Mike. You you were to ask me to describe Leeds permonce is two words, I 'd say Chasing shadows... Agree with Byram, we should appeal it, though Smithy should not have got sent off against Wednesday last season.
Morning Doc, I really hope we can find the final pieces of the jigsaw, and with these pieces we click into gear. Sure, Cellino has picked the majority of the players, but many are loans, subject to permanent deals. Don't know why we are not trying to tap up some Prem youngsters on season long loans, surely we must have some scouts by now?
Morning all. Saturday's result was bad, but the game changed when Bellusci was sent off. At least he could be back for Bolton. If we are about to sign yet more midfielders, are we ever going to have a settled team? Not sure why people think Austin should lose his lace? Who else have we got as a CM enforcer? I wait to see how much longer Cellino will give the Hock. But what he needs more than anything else is a settled team, a period of stability, and a style of play that involves proper footy. We certainly have the players. All we need is for some leadership
And a special Good Morning to all the guests on today. The Breakfast debate is a daily feature on the NOT606 forum. Feel free to sign up, and join in at any time. Totally free!!!
Morning Boggers, When Bellusci was sent off, and Watford scored, why did Hocks substitute the one player who could have made a difference (Sharp) and bring on a defensive player? He did not believe we could have come back and wanted to limit the damage to 2-1. I would have gambled, if we had lost 5-1 chasing the game, and trying to influence the result, so be it.
Morning one and all. Last week I posted a comment in reply to some talk of bookies odds for promotion/relegation. I said I would post an update to see how we compare week to week. Here is this weeks update. Here's the latest bookies thoughts on Leeds chances this year. Mon 18th August: PROMOTION: 12-1 RELEGATION: 9-2 ... TOP SIX: 5-1...... Mon 25th August: PROMOTION: 20-1 RELEGATION: 3-1 ... TOP SIX: 9-1 Mon 1st Sept: I will post an update every week for comparison as we go through the season. I don't think it will be necessary to go on much longer unless this week bring untold gifts on the transfer market. Looking at Ellands list of signings the thing that stands out a mile is the lack of much experience in the Championship both from that list, Dave and indeed MC. Is this just another year slowly slipping by ?
I had the same thought Elland. Apparently its something to do with Sharp not being fully fit. Me, I think I would have kept himon for a bit and then rested him for the Bradford game.
Before I slip off to do some work, there are positives to be had lads compared to previous years. We know the negatives, they've been done to death and back. However there can be no doubting our owners passion and desire to turn Leeds into a pl club. We haven't seen that in the last decade. Of course he's made mistakes along the way and will make more. Difference with this guy, he has the means and the will to try and rectify them. Good example is admitting he hasn't enough quality players yet and is looking to sign another half dozen. Hang on another few weeks lads before jumping overboard
I care about the cup. Last years trip to Newcastle was a standout trip. Let's get through and meet a big(sic) boy.
We should field all the players who need match fitness and then use the kids like Dawson, Cook, Turner etc and maybe we might get a result. If we get beat at least Hock can say he wanted to use it for training purposes. We won't win the cup anyway Have a read of this because I believe it highlights all our problems http://www.thescratchingshed.com/20...s-next-to-ferraris-is-it-an-instant-upgrade/?
