Surprise, surprise there is no current e-mail address for the Professional Game Officials Limited. The postal address is Wembley Stadium, Wembley, HA9 0WS. Companies House may have an e-mail address if anyone can look it up. The company number is 04195554 (hopefully). If I don't find an e-mail address I'll write to them along the following lines: After watching a magnificent defensive display by a 10 man Hull City against Stoke City yesterday you can imagine my disappointment at the decision of the referee and his two assistants to incorrectly award a throw in to Stoke City which led to their equaliser. Yes we should have defended the thrown in better but that reasoning applies also to the officials, they should have seen the ball change direction when it hit the Stoke City player. This is the second week Hull City have been on the receiving end of a poor refereeing decision. However such an attitude is not very helpful, even though we feel victimised because we are not a "sexy" club with a long history of success, or one of the big 6 or 7. The PGMOL is the body responsible for improving the quality of referees. I should be obliged if you state: •what lessons you have learnt from our opening two games; •whether they will be in training sessions for referees; •what steps you are taking to improve the quality of referees generally; and •whether an apology for the decision has been issued to our club. Yours sincerely, Best I can do on a bank holiday morning.
It will be blankly ignored. Best if we turn up at their place and throw rotten eggs and tomatoes at them.
I bombarded them with messages after the Burnley away(when they an imaginary penalty and Geo got sent off), but didn't receive any response.
Isn't this something Howard Webb in his new roll is supposed to address? EDIT: A letter to him might not go unnoticed.
Referees can be vindictive bastards. It takes an extra-ordinary personality to be a top flight ref - narcissistic springs to mind. I'd leave well alone and wait patiently for the decision that goes in our favour at a crucial point of a game....
I agree, these things tend to even themselves out over a course of a season anyway. it wasn't an important game.
