PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES MATCH DAY 2 The Swans win over Burnley leaves us second in the table and only Spurs or Hull can leapfrog above us today. Sunderland could make life very difficult for Mr van Gaal meaning the Swans could be six points clear of Man U this evening. Sunday 24 August 2014 13:30 Hull v Stoke 13:30 Spurs v QPR 16:00 Sunderland v Man Utd In tomorrow's nights fixture either Liverpool, Man City or both could lose their 100% record, so the worst case scenario this weekend (if Spurs, Hull and either Man City or Liverpool win), would see the Swans in 5th position after two fixtures. Monday 25 August 2014 20:00 Man City v Liverpool MATCHDAY LIVE PREMIER LEAGUE TABLE: http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live/league-tables/premier-league
Listening to the radio after the game and someone on the station for the Welsh Nation said Swans fans were singing 'We're going to win the league ... a little premature for that.' They don't get irony in Cardiff, do they? I tried 'phoning to put them right but couldn't get through - apparently the mighty aren't storming the Championship! I think I would have been right in saying we are aiming for 40 points before anything else.
We're down to third with Spurs winning 4-0 at the moment. Ben is on the bench while Vorm is still nowhere to be seen - not sure if he is injured?
Man City vs Liverpool will be a good one . Hoping Liverpool have a great game and win comfortably so they might subside in their thoughts of grabbing Bony.
Trying to retain Bony is a bit more important than pretending were in a season long fight for top spots . I still think Bony will go this week but if he doesnt .... we will be happy campers so Ill be hoping for an overwhelming Red win . Our first 2 games being victories doesnt hurt either in Bony's thought process
So you think Shelvey AND Bony will be gone by the end of the week? Do you use tealeaves, Mystig Meg, or what? The Champion's League post was tongue-in-cheek btw, just in case you think I am deluded enough to think we will still be there after 38 games. How's Canada these days?
I think there are possibilities Shelvey and or Bony could go by the end of the week , nothing unusual about that sort of thing happening. The chances of it happening lessen with a good start by us and a good start by anyone interesred in him leading to the closure of the transfer window.Canada is as beautiful and big as it ever was .
40pts is our first target which i cant see being a problem, A top ten finish is our next target which is harder but well within our capabilities and from there we aim for a European spot that will boost our sponsorship and generate more money coming into the club, and the final target is a top 6 club which is a bit to far to expect but something we must aim for all the same....
Penultimate target is top 4 and Champions League. Final target is finishing top. We can do it with wonder boy Monk in charge.
You'd have thought we'd have learned by now how easy it is to lose and much harder to win games . Anywhere above the bottom 3 will be a success especially with Monk in charge in his first full season.
