Great to see the mighty Spurs riding the top of the table. If we were Chavs, and Poch was The Smug One, the media would be saying "it's business as usual," but because it's the mighty Spurs, Durham and the other hacks will all be sharpening their knives to find ways of putting us down. I think Arsenal are lucky to still be clinging on to 4th. I think they'll do well to stay there, to be honest.
If we manage to win the title (which looks possible) then we will be the first team in recent history not to buy their way to the title, as our team has been assembled on a very strict budget.
City will displace Arsenal tomorrow but hopefully Liverpool will keep the score down against our title rivals. Lets hope we're here to stay, I can't wait to hear Lawrenson talking about how Spurs are the people's choice for the title and how everyone wants to see Chadli finally lift the title.
We're definitely the team to beat. The boys have something to hold onto, for the first in a long time. I'm expecting them to rise to the challenge.
You're being too previous lads because it's much much too early to start crowing. The season is only two matches old which translated into a football match is about two and a half minutes. I've often seen teams on a good run and then lose which sparks a bad run so come on, you're leaving yourselves open to egg on your faces in the form of a Spanish Omelet. It only takes a top team to spank us then we find ourselves humbled so be careful. I expect this sort of talk from petty minded simple Geordies who after two wins talk about the CL as Sunderland did under Steve Bruce and not from Spurs supporters. Be realistic.
I wasn't sure Moorpheus so I thought I'd put a bit of sage advice in anyway. Liverpool and Arsenal aren't that far away and there are other banana skins on the way like a fixture pile up. I am going along quietly, softly softly catchee monkey.
How can you say that? Have you not seen what we've done? Lamela has found his boots. Ade has found his arse. And Dier is giving Walker lessons in how to play at RB. Okay, yes, so some will say that all we've done is beat two teams destined for relegation this season, but you can only beat what's in front of you.
HIAG of course I've seen what we've done as I posted weeks ago that we'd have a good start but the season is still a babe in arms, calm down.
Calm down? I've never been calmer. Just answer me these questions... (1) Are we, the mighty Spurs, top of the league? (2) Are the Gunners currently sat in lowly 4th? (3) Are 'Pool and £ity chasing us? (4) Has Poch had a 100% start to his Prem and Europa campaign? If you've answered "yes" to all those questions, then you'll be getting the message. I hate to be critical, TMT, but you really do need to get a shot of reality, son. (PS: no wumming on this thread, please).
I concur lads. Can see it being a close title race between us, city and the chavs but from I've seen we are the definite favourites for the title. I'd also bet money on Chadli and Dier to share the golden boot.
HIAG, you are priceless. Good night all and what a good day. Remember 4-0 on Thursday and we'll get further in the EL this year than last.
I think we need to pace ourselves so that we don't humiliate the rest of the league. Otherwise they will lose heart and it will be too easy for us. Spurs must make allowances for the lesser teams.
