Today we have been linked with Peter Whittingham from Cardiff. Norwich and Portsmouth are also after him but it says since we went into the running the price has increased by 500K. Also Stoke are after Matt Mills but we are prepared offer more money. I would like both at the club but they will both prove expensive
This was first on a Cardiff forum last week and the asking price was quoted as £1 million. Personally I think £1.5 million for Peter Whittingham is good business.
that sounds like a bargain price tbh, as long as Leicester fans will forgive him for what happened in the play-offs last year , but it does support the claim that Dyer could be on his way out
Not a chance he will go for as little as £1.5m, signed a new contract last year with Cardiff and has scored 36 goals in the last 2 years as a midfielder.
Course, we'd forgive Whittingham - we forgave Speedie for diving! "Times change, we change" as Cass Pennant said. Love Dyer but Sven thinks his legs are too skinny so he's only a bit part player. I think Sven has a point. He's a good player at Championship level but is he the sort of player that we should be looking at to gain us promotion? The problem is that we have a lot of good championship players; all of whom are capable of holding places in good top half teams but we need players that are not just good but will excel.
You've got to admit, his legs are the skinniest you've ever seen. I would take both Mills and Whittingham definitely.
Two good players, along with the bagful of other good players we are linked with. Believe it when I see it for these two though.
£4m was probably a bit much anyway. If Bamba, Tunchev, Mee, Vitor (loan) and St Ledger are our defenders next season I'll be pretty pleased. Must say though I think St Ledger is massively overrated - he'd easily be my 5th choice.
You might be right, I hope so anyway because I think it's likely we'll sign him. It would be a shame if his reputation put him ahead of very promising players like Mee though, as was the case with some players last season.
