I was sat thinking 'Get Sagbo on' then it dawned on me he was banned at which point I though 'Oh ****!!'
We were bossing the game until Chester got sent off. It annoys me that we changed our tactics immediately and invited them on to us. I don't see why this was necessary. Chester was hardly in the game up until that point anyway because they had nothing coming forward. Fortunately for us Stoke were s**t for most of the game and didn't have the skill to break us down, but if we'd have adopted that tactic against a top half team, then we'd have been put to the sword.
You mean the corner? Boyd seemed to get an instruction from Bruce which prompted him to run all the way over to the corner flag to then let Huddlestone fall over the ball.
I think Sky are about to show highlights of our game after the next break on Sky Sports 2 for anybody wanting to see them/interviews. Edit - scrap that. They've decided to break from the norm and build up to tomorrow's game instead with Brendan Rodgers.
How can a ref standing 10 yards away from an incident not see it, but me sitting in the East Stand 120 yards away can.....The ball clearly came off their player. The ball was clearly deflected. The Stoke player that ball hit was walking away as were the other Stoke players to defend our throw in.. The ref looked to the lino on the West stand side but he didn't raise his flag so he guessed and got it horrendously wrong. I'm beginning to think the refs have got it in for us. I shall be expecting Howard Webb and Mike Riley to demote Moss to Sunday league....He's well over weight and couldn't keep up with the pace.
I was disappointed by Bruce's tactics in the last few minutes. When we had a corner we should have gone for the goal and the 3 points no question, taking it short and keeping it in the corner just looked amateurish.
We were robbed, I was not far from the throw in, and everyone in the stadium saw it came off their player, except for the ref and linesman who didn't seem to indicate one way or the other. As SB said in his interview after the game, all our players were out of position expecting a throw for us.
i did call out what a waste of time , then the irony of what i said dawned on me . im more annoyed that the result feels more like a loss and i have to keep reminding myself otherwise . going down to 10 men at 14 mins , most of us would take a draw against Stoke everytime , and to be fair to SB he probably thought the same
Given that a disproportionate amount of our goals seem to come from our central defenders getting their head on the end of a ball from a corner, it did seem a naive waste particularly as there was obviously going to be 4 to 5 minutes of added time to follow.
Totally disagree with this. We were down to ten-men and keeping the ball at that point was an absolute priority. Bruce had it spot on, he usually does. Haven't seen the TV footage yet but I was incensed with the ref throughout
Got to say what a shift put in too by all the lads, they did us proud, Jelavic ran his heart out. At the end the momentum was with them so that was why Hudds decided to keep it in the corner, even if it messed up. He got a bit lucky after as he went through their lad feet first but the simpleton with the whistle didn't see it
Hudds didn't hold it well thats for sure but it wasn't naive at all. Maybe on TV it might look like we should have been going for it but when you see the space they had on the pitch we could have easily lost a point
