Out of all managers to compare him to, Graham would be the last as while Pochettino works on the defence, every manager (who wants to be a success) has to work on the defence but we have been lucky to keep a clean sheet in both games and I would rather we never mention George Graham again!

Good call Spurf. We've all cried out for Lennon too much in the past based on an old fashioned winger system. Under Poch, you can already see the pre-season work paying off. The three attacking midfielders all interchange, pass, move and create space for each other; not to mention the pressing when we lose the ball. Somethings we've been crying out for for ages. Hopefully at last we can finally start to realise that creating goal scoring chances doesn't have to come from a winger running at defenders.

TBH, I am grateful Joey Barton has not put a Spurs player out for the rest of
the season during the game today.

Yes he did, although the "You're Spurs and you know you are" songs were aimed at Glenn Hoddle.

Was lucky enough to be at the lane today.
1st) there was a problem with a large number of membership and season ticket cards....meants several thousand got in late...I missed first 20 mins and 1st goal...cmon spurs get a better computer system...
    2nd) qpr were bad
3rd) that is the best spurs performance I have seen since smashing the toon 5 nil in feb 2012. It was great to see the closing down as a team and watching seems to confirm that the players have so far bought into MPs style of football.
We passed with speed and purpose and every player seemed to want the ball.
I have never seen adebayor come off the pitch knackered before!

I am not getting ahead of myself as like I said qpr were pants...but we were really entertaining to watch which is a huge improvement on the past 2 years.

I have been as scheptical about lamela as anyone. I said that i hadnt seen anything in his play to date that indicated he's anything better than average. I also said he seems to have a heavy touch and no obvious outstanding facet of his game. I said that that was based on what i have seen of him for spurs and also based on his 'best of' video compilations.

Based on what evidence was available, i don't think those comments were unreasonable, particularly seeing as part of the reason that are on here is to share our opinions. I don't personally see any reason why an initial opinion shouldn't be expressed after a dozen or so games or whatever it is he's played, and even if that view is wrong, i certainly wouldn't see why a conclusive opinion could suddenly be expressed so strongly and emotionally one game later after he has put in one convincing league performance.

So far as I recall, on no occassion did you challenge my comments when I questioned the player, let alone argue why you thought they were wrong. I'm therefore at a bit of a loss as to why you are now throwing the doh smiley around, as if early criticisms of the player had been some deliberate attempt to cause personal offence to yourself.

I would note by the way that I did caveat my comments by saying that i thought he looked a bit like a rabbit in the headlights, and i wondered whether his high transfer fee, and high level of expectations were affecting his performance. it may well be that this is the case.

I also thought that he showed a lot more in the 45 minutes he played last week, and as a result of that i included him in the line up that i put on here that i wanted to see play today.

What's for sure is that if he continues to deliver improved performances and be the star player (now or in the future) that we all hoped to be getting, then i will be both excited and delighted.

By the way, i would note that my half time comment in dier's debut was that he looked absolute class (when others on here and elsewhere were commenting on other things), that i noted that paulinho appeared to be dross at a time when most who now agree were still eulogising about him on the basis that he played for brazil, that i noted that dembele's game had dropped off at a time when others were insisting he was the greatest thing since sliced bread, that i stated that i thought bentaleb looked like a quality player while most were slating sherwood for ever picking him, that i have championed kane's cause for some time when most were happy to write him off, and that i've also stood by players such as jenas throughout the period when he received outrageous personal, racist and homophobic abuse from a large number of posters on 606 even though there have been far worse players down the years for us, and that i supported our repurchase of kaboul from portsmouth when many were vitreolic about it to the extent that one 606 poster stated that he was abandoning his support for the club because he was so disgusted about the transfer. So my judgment - even if made on an interim basis - isnt always wrong.

Whether you think it is or not though, please don't throw the doh smiley in my face when im probably just as pleased as you that a spurs player appears to be coming on leaps and bounds.

    Thanks.

What a day at the Lane.

And for the record, it was me that started the "Eric Dier, he scores when he wants!" chants and I took great pleasure in seeing it echoed around the stadium :D

Thought we were superb, the first half was one of the best I've seen from Spurs in years. The attacking trio of Lamela, Eriksen and Chadli were immense, I'm not really one who overly looks into stats (much) but I think this must have been the first game where we actually started the three together since they signed last summer! And it's fair to say it was somewhat worth the wait. They caused havoc for QPR and I'd love to see more of the same. Chadli and Lamela finally looked like the players of Twente and Roma respectively and Eriksen has already become a star player for us. But make no mistake, I don't think one player stood out above the rest today, all the starting eleven players were equally brilliant. Hugo done everything he needed to do, Dier is setting the early bar for signing of the Summer, Vertonghen looked back to his best, Rose played his best game in a Spurs shirt, Kaboul looked much improved and hopefully he can regain the form which made him become one of the league's best CB's, Capoue and Bentaleb were very solid and efficient and Ade lead the line perfectly with a goal and assist.

The second half we kept on pressing despite holding a 3 goal lead and it paid off with Ade getting the 4th, I think after that we stepped off the gas a little bit but the work rate of the players was still fantastic, everyone was chasing down a QPR player and you could see it was disrupting any rhythm the away side hoped to get going, Poch's double and triple sessions are evidently beginning to pay off.

Twice throughout the game we done the "Harry, give us a wave" chants to which he obliged, much to the dislike of the QPR fans and while I can understand their frustration, Harry was a firm favourite here at the Lane and so it was only natural the Spurs faithful would interact with him one way or another.

Superb first home game for Poch, lets hope we keep this momentum for AEL and Pool.

    COYS!

People that don't read our comments on here regularly will begin to believe you Bossman.

For the record, to any guests and lurkers, I GENUINELY LIKE CHADLI!!!

Funnily enough, when I saw the starting XI I said to my Cousin I had a feeling Chadli will score.

Hit me up if you want any lottery numbers guys <ok>

I know a guy who had a fiver on Chadli to score the first goal doubled up with Spurs to win 3-0. I think he had mixed feelings when the fourth goal went in !!!!

    Ouch!

I tend to have the poor luck of calling a result/ goal scorer, failing to back it and then seeing it come in. Yet the moment I back one, my selected team lose 4-0 and my player will end up being sent off or subbed at half time <grr>

Well done fellas. Thoroughly deserved. We were abysmal and Redknapp had a total 'mare but you looked classy. Great movement, commitment and if you had've kept going right to the end you could have hit us for 6 or 7.

Hopefully you'll push on this season and make a real assault on the top 4. On today's evidence, there's no reason why you can't make it <ok>

(PS Bossman did you see my post earlier on page 2 RE Tommy Carrol?)

On paper a great move for Carroll and Swansea are the ideal club for his style, just depends if he will play matches, but looking forward to seeing how he gets on with Swansea. If he fails there, then he will join Obika as players we thought would be great, but never developed as we hoped.

I hope Redknapp drops this 3-5-2, not sure what has inspired him to try the system, was it watching the world cup? or did he try it last year? Just you signed players this summer specifically for the system. Big game next with Sunderland at home, lose that and its a long two weeks until the next fixture, which is Utd away.

Sorry mate, but on today's performance, you're in for a long winter. The players who I thought would be your most influential players, turned out to have nightmares.

We like Caulker on this board for obvious reasons, but he looked very uncomfortable in his new role and Dunne was just awful. Barton had a shocking first half although he was better in the second.

This 3 at the back shape just didn't work. I understand from talking to a member of your coaching staff, that Hoddle flew off to Dubai immediately after your game last Saturday, to work on TV over there with Keys and Gray. He did their Sunday broadcasts and also their Monday night coverage. If he is committed to QPR full time, then maybe you have a chance with Harry's chosen system. If he isn't, then I do fear for you.

    Good Luck <ok>.

He said he played 3-5-2 all the time with Portsmouth and with West Ham when they finished 5th. Hopefully he knows what the fukk he's doing because that was shambolic today.

I think we need to beat Sunderland now.

Take care mate and best of luck for the rest of the season <ok>
