Saying that, if the comments Hamilton just made are true (though I seriously question it) you have my unreserved apology.
http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/28921431 The fact Lewis keeps saying "he basically said..." Makes me think *so he didn't really say that as such* though.
He probably said "I wasn't going to give you any quarter after Hungary..." And Lewis has emotionally exaggerated it. Like he does.
Hamilton was hard done by today for sure, however I really am not a fan. I usually like to support the British Grand Prix drivers, but I just can't warm to Hamilton. I'd rather Rosberg won. (Maybe due to a soft spot to his Dad)
Ha! Yes, Keke was a true character. Hamilton isn't terribly likeable I'm afraid. Met him a few times and he's always been pleasant (dull, but pleasant enough). Not widely loved within teams he's raced for though. Says a lot.
Rosberg could have put himself out as well...bonkers. I know that drivers have done this before if it means they get the title...didn't someone do it to Hamilton before? I think formula 1 drivers are all a bit strange.
Oh hold on, yeah there was a test car Williams ran in 81ish with 6 wheels. Never raced. Stewart's 6 wheel Tyrrell did race though.
Gotcha! I was at the GP at Brands where Keke was on pole - early 80s. Start was delayed & the track announcer interviewed Keke saying "is there anything that annoys you, being on pole and having the race delayed?" - Keke "yes, I've run out of ***s". Legend.
I was the then too... Was that the year Warwick Got the Toleman up into 2nd place before the engine blew?
Jeeze FLT, can barely remember last week. I remember that happening, but whether it was that race or not I'm not sure. Went to all the BGPs religiously in the 80s with my dad.
It's easier to remember stuff like that from 30-40 years ago than what happened last week I used to go with my folks every other year (at Brands) as you could see more of the track. Happy Days
