World of football going mad...Balotelli being bought on a 5 year contract by Scousehampton and now Manure offering a new contract to Phil Jones with a £25k a week increase to £75k pw WTF is going on?
£16M, in football terms, is a snip, if you can control him. I'm sure they could have had Osvaldo for less.
Evan more bad news for Palace, Mackay almost had his feet under the table but now its all gone pear shaped
Tis true, but not an ideal way to start the season, would like to know what happened with Pulis, maybe the board wanted him to sign his son

It's a shame he feels that way, but Forster is obviously Koeman's choice. Shame Boruc hasn't turned up for training etc, feel like he could have handled this situation much better from his end which is most disappointing.
Could not think of one PL team that Artur would be 1st choice. There are basically 8 top class keepers in the league (Chelsea the gready bastards have two) and its strange that some scousers think Mino is pretty ****. All the other 1st choice keepers are about the same standard and I would put Artur and Forster in this group. I know nothing about the Burnley keeper though If he leaves then he will probably sit on some other teams bench, unless he goes back to Italy or Poland
I think the Forster move makes complete sense. We signed Gazza in the hopes of bringing someone through beneath our first choice keeper and it failed miserably. Boruc has one year left and is increasingly, injury prone. Do we go for another guy who might not step up to first team level or do we go all out for a first choice keeper who should last years? This move is ambitious, forward-thinking and, consequently, another thing for Saints fans to moan about. I would have expected Artur to be a bit more professional... but then our players seem to have been cast from the same mould.
There's plenty of teams where he'd be the best keeper. It's not unusual for him to play for Poland ahead of Szczesny and Fabianski for a start. I agree most won't be interested in signing him but that's because most teams already have a first choice keeper and won't want to disrupt things. This is a tired argument now but I don't think Forster (who sometimes struggled to command his area even in Scotland - I haven't been able to check this claim but I saw a Scottish journalist claim Celtic are so dominant up there that he made less than one save per game last season) will be as good as Boruc, I think the disruption this has created would have been better avoided given the upheaval we've already had this summer and the money would have been better spent elsewhere. If we had signed a competent backup keeper for £2m or £3m we would have had good goalkeeping depth, kept a little more stability in the squad and could have seen how Boruc goes this year and made a decision on whether or not to keep him based on how he plays. The likes of Jaaskelainen and Friedel have performed very well in their mid to late 30s or even past 40 so his age doesn't matter yet. As for "increasingly injury prone" I don't see that at all. Apart from when he missed games with a broken hand (hardly a sign of being injury prone) he missed one game last season - the meaningless final game of the season, and I'm not even sure he was injured then. We may have been giving Kelvin Davis a final farewell appearance. However I'm well aware that most people disagree with me so we'll just have to see what happens.
According to skysports , Hull have agreed to sign Dawson from spurs.... We need DTLW back doing this.
