i'd still be cautious before thinking we'll be champions, as stated the team needs centre backs and with that will mean about 8 new players in the team all needing to gel together which will take some time

 

good quality players take less time to gel than poor quality players

 

Oh, the Gills and the Wycombe's of this world will quote this article forever if it all goes wrong, but hell I'll join in...

Sorry to be a wet blanket but I'm waiting to see how they play in a Charlton shirt before I get excited. For one thing I don't know enough about these players to make an informed comment but for another thing I remember getting excited about players like Rommedahl, Jeffers, Murphy, Smertin and Ambrose, all players who let us down one way or another. So I'll be at Welling and hopefully then join in the mood of optimism!

 

I sincerely hope you're right, but don't forget this is Charlton we are talking about. Never do things the easy way!

As much as I think we stand a great chance, be warned the teams like Huddersfield have been spending in this division for two seasons and find themselves still here.

The board and my namesake have done brilliantly so far and like all of yoiu i can't wait for the season to start. As for the team needing time to gel......that's old hat.....friendlies are for this exact reason. we will be up and running from the start and all the other L1 sides will be in our dust.
