Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is confident the club now have in place the right structure in order for them to start winning trophies again. The Reds' last piece of silverware was the 2006 FA Cup, in which Gerrard played a starring role, but the England midfielder feels they are now better placed to end that drought. 'What I can say to the fans is that Liverpool will be back among the trophies sooner rather than later because we are moving in the right direction,' he said. 'We have got fantastic players, the structure of the club is healthy from top to bottom and when that is the case then the team won't be too far away from winning.' Gerrard also believes Liverpool's wait for another league title, which now stands at 21 years, has a greater chance of being ended. 'We will get the championship again. It's difficult to say when because that adds a lot of pressure to the team,' added the 31-year-old.

There are certainly a lot of positive vibes coming out of the club at the moment. It seems that, by and large, the players that matter have their belief back, and without that, you're nowhere. Let's hope Stevie's right and the coming season wouldn't be too soon for me and you lot, I'm sure. BRING IT ON!!!!

I think you should concentrate on getting back in the top 4 before even thinking about winning the league again. This isn't a dig but you do hear this sort of thing from Gerrard every single year. Teams that win the title usually finished 1st or 2nd the year before. I really can't see the title going anywhere other than United or Chelsea (city as an outside bet if they get in some more top players and 'click'). No reason why Liverpool couldn't win a cup comp though. Lesser teams have in the last few years Birmingham, Spurs, Portsmouth etc...
Next season we should be back in Europe, Champions League I reckon, a piece of silverware would be good too, wouldn't mind even if it was the Carling Cup
Progress, thats all we can ask, if that included silverwear great, if not ok, but as long as we forward from here I am happy.
I've enjoyed tasting defeat, because it makes winning sweeter. And boy can't I wait for when we win our next piece of silverware.

Not the big one, only some random made up ones like the autoglass trophy or something probably. You've not won the two respectable European trophies (UEFA cup or Champions league/European Cup)
Made up european trophies?!?! are you extremely arrogant or just know nothing?? We beat Real Madrid to win 2 of the 3 trophies which suggests that they are a little more than 'random'.
