Wilshere doesn't deserve to start anymore. I can't remember the last time he impressed.

I have said this for two years, he is living on his reputation as a youth team player.

Am I the only one who thought Wilshere was decent today? Not spectacular but not awful. IMO he had a far better performance than Ramsey but that'll be overlooked because Ramsey scored.

The last two times we drew 2-2 at Goodison in the league we went on to be champions.

    Rubbish. Typical uniformed comment.

Wilshere has been struggling with injuries, but already he's shown that he is a top quality player. If he can have an injury free season then I think we'll see just how good he is.

When has he shown that he's top quality? Having a great couple of games doesn't mean you're top quality... Just have to look at players like Nani, Anderson, Denilson, Chamakh etc. I don't think it's unfair to say that Wilshere has not shown much in the last few years. To suggest he has is just as subjective and therefore as much rubbish as Diego's assertion that he hasn't.

i should have trademarked my comment about " a big unit" <laugh>

but sadly it is true, we need a big presence as our team is short on height [no pun intended], and Gunitoroud does defend well at corners [does **** all on our corners mind you]

so if we are going to have the smallest team in the premiership we need all the tall ****ers we can get on the pitch as BFG boots our average height by about 3 inches and yesterday it was 5 ft 9 inch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously.I don't get this sort of nonsense. For a start Wilshere was not even remotely our poorest player on the pitch yesterday. Monreal had a shocker(again), Chamberlain consistently made the wrong decision and Flamini was all over the place. Yet Wilshere gets all the critiscm. It's the same as it was with Ramsey.

You just have to look at him to see his ability. Close control is TOP class, great range of passing and he can run with the ball.

Wenger picks him because in terms of ABILITY he's one of the best players in our squad. He's lacking both confidence and fitness and the only way to solve that is with games.

    Mertesacker, really?

We were lucky we didn't concede a few just because of his risky back passes. He looked in panic mode for half of the game.

Not saying he should be singled out, but a "high point"? For that game?

Are you seriously comparing Wilshere to Denilson ?

I think it's pretty fair to say that Wilshere has shown more promise than simply 'a couple of games'. In my opinion he is a top quality player, who has been hampered by injuries and is trying to find his form and fitness again and saying that he is living on 'his reputation as a youth player' is rubbish I'm afraid.

I wonder if Wilshere will get the same treatment as 'no football brain' Walcott or 'Championship standard' Ramsey before he makes people eat their words ..... ?

Have to agree with you there. Ramsey scored, but apart from that did **** all. Wilshere always tried to go forwards, and nearly got through a couple of times as well. No idea why he's being slated, as I'd say he was our second best player after Giroud.

I'm not even criticising him. I'm just standing up for people that do if they've got a valid point., or if they're getting rudely shot down by others for no reason reason.

When everyone is fit, Wilshere won't play anyway. So if he needs games to find this mythical top quality form he apparently has then we and him are screwed either way
