Don't sugar coat it, he's thick as **** and his brain can't react quick enough His problem for me is that his instinct tells him to look up take a couple if touches and look for the LNG ball rather than play the way Leon would.
After todays performance I would go with the following team against West Brom (assuming Leon is still injured): ------------------Fabianski-------------------- Rangel – Williams – Fernandez – Taylor --------------------Amat---------------------- ----Routledge – Sigurdson – Ki-Montero--- --------------------Bony------------------------ Subs: Tremmel, Dyer, Shelvey, Gomis, Bartley, Carroll
I get a feeling Shelvey might go before the window closes .. no sauce , just a feeling .Our midfield will shore up a bit when Britton comes back and we get another midcielder before the window shuts .We 've won 5 games straight going back to last season..and we never had a good performance amongst them , with a full bench ..things look good table wise but our performances have been anything but .
Fab Tiedalli , Fernandez, Williams , Taylor Dyer ,Ki , Routledge , Sig , Montero Bony thats my line up for the West Brom game
...but he can score from the half-way line Thought Fabianski was our best player today; commanded the penalty area like I haven't seen from a Swansea 'keeper for a long time. At least I don't have to cover my eyes when a long ball goes in the box any more.
Agree with that team PGF, although I'm praying we will have Stambouli by then and then I'd put him in and switch Amat and Fernandez in your line up and bring Fernandez on off the bench.
I agree with everything that's been said about Shelvey - truly awful today - but he does have a tendency to win games for us at times. Probably 9 to 12 points worth last season. Hope we keep him - but he needs some heavy coaching.
Its daft you think , I think hes going because he had a bad game ..I want Shelvey to stay, lots of quality more times than not
I wasn't on much during the summer. But let's explore Roof's hunch a bit further. Do you think he's going to leave because other clubs want to snap him up or because we want to offload him, or because he will put in a transfer request because he's unhappy? Personally, I don't think any of those scenarios will be happening.
I think he wanted to leave since Febuary , and by the looks of him the first few games , he's looks like he's marking time . Give me another week to be wrong .... then you can tar and feather me . I think things have been happening behind the scenes with Shelvey , unlike most other trasfers out .I hope he stays IF he wants to stay .
Can't see any evidence for any of this, sorry. Shelvey has worked well pre-season and has a history of blowing hot and cold. He did so last season. If he wanted to leave I think we'd have heard about it by now. But who knows?
I'd be more concerned when Bony goes , and he is .Why pull him off today, the best player out there holding up ,creatively and defensively .We weren't comfortably wining and looked more likely to concede so why bring Gomis on if not for him to get more game time (which he needs I admit ) but not at the expense of a player who was injured blowing wind out of his arse & as I say was one of if not the best players today.
How anyone can say that they would put Stambouli in for Shelvey is beyond me...... apart from the fact that we haven't signed him yet, we have no idea if he will be any good. The same thing happened last year when a few were saying we should put Cañas straight into the team without even seeing him kick a ball for us - and look how that turned out.
