606 discussing Rhodes, reckoning he is being valued at fifteen million. As much as I rate him, that is fecking ridiculous. Please God don't think of paying that for him.
Heard it...Savage made me laugh, said he's only worth £6m at best! Pissed the Leicester fan right off
I dont think we'll pay £15m. If he's happy at Blackburn and their owners dont want to sell him, even for silly money, then lets move on to our next target. Ive said it before, but I really wish Bruce would look abroad more often when it comes to signing players. £15m in europe can buy you a VERY good striker. Also looking at some of Bruce's signings when he was at Wigan & Sunderland, he often brought foreign players to England and they did well, Valencia, Zakki, Gyan..
I wonder if SB doesnt want to upset AA incase he buys another NP. we all know what happened to Barmby when he upset Assam.
I was listening to it, the presenters said he was not worth anything like 12 million, but a Blackburn fan said he was worth 15 million, and that they should keep him so they get to the EPL.
I'd rather Put the money towards loans then piss it away on Rhodes if it's getting towards silly money!
Someone is only worth what someone is willing to pay! Long is a great example of that! It might be a case of Bruce blinking last, to get the best deal?
No one tells AA no deal!! He'll sort it, did anyone mange to listen to bowyers post match interview and was he asked about the situation?
£10 plus Bruce Jnr. Bowyer has flown to India to talk to the Venkys http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490
If true, it sounds like Bowyer would've sold him for what we offered. Understandable, despite inflated transfer fees popping up recently, £10m can get some good players in the Championship. Hopefully he convinces the Venkys. Obviously being the Daily Mail, for now I shall take it with a pinch of salt.
For me the interesting thing about the statement is the wording of one particular line, which from memory says something along the lines of "it is not our intention to sell Jordan Rhodes". If they categorically were not prepared to sell him they would have put "we have no intention of selling Jordan Rhodes", a subtle but very important difference.
They obviously want as much as they can get and we don't know the true figures but if it does get up towards 15 million then its getting ridiculous. The problem we have if this falls through is getting someone in who is going to make a real difference? we all know goalscorers are the most expensive players you can buy. Ings at Burnley looks decent but would they let him go and what would is value be now? i would have thought 12 to 15 million, strikers prices seemed to have gone up massively over the past couple of months. Like others have said would going abroad be the better option
Our reaction to Rhodes price climbing is the same as the Southampton fans who balked at longs price. They did pay too much and we risk doing the same.
