Cardiff has a big catchment area and so it rightly should have more people watching , but it doesnt . Go back to both of us in the lower leagues and we consistantly got more or were about the same . Most swans fans come from swansea ,most Cardiff fans come from anywhere except cardiff! That has always been the way ,which again makes it a bit strange that people from measteg, bridgend, porth etc,etc call Themselves a captital club! No different to a man utd fan living in essex really.
Not sure where you get your facts about our club mate, but I can assure you there are a lot of fans in Cardiff. The supporters from elsewhere, Bridgend, Maesteg, Rhondda you name it make up the numbers, and they support us as we are the local team I guess Port Talbot, for example is a mix of Cardiff and Swans fans. Bridgend, mainly Cardiff but a few Swans fans. I'm sure a lot of Swans faithful come from further a field also, Llanelli, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest etc. Sure the fans are not just limited to Swansea as a City.
I suppose we should just admit we're just a pale shadow on our Capital City. Fair play, they have a bigger stadium, a bigger catchment area, a bigger name as manager. And a bigger debt, a bigger ego, a bigger two-hat running the club, and a bigger set of fixtures next season in the lower leagues. Who said bigger means better?
Your 1st comment said it all, pal. YOU said it, no one else. YOU brought Cardiff into this argument with your typical drone of the Capital City. I merely corrected you.. Your bitterness for Cardiff is funny Goodluck this season
Only just came upon this and it has such a familiar pissing contest ring about it. Most Swans fans I know accept that Cardiff is bigger in terms of ground size and catchment etc. because it's a reality that can't really be changed, well not over a short period. No point in arguing about it because it's a fact and the Cardiff fans I know (yes I know a few) by and large realise that we get it - we really do. They also acknoweldge that at this particular moment we are the 'biggest' in terms of status and ability on the pitch. Guess what? They don't have a problem with that either. It's all cyclical you know, so nothing to see here.
I've never said you weren't bud. My issue was the silly comment made earlier in this thread, backed up by further idiotic post's with silly claim's. No one has disputed the Swans play more attractive football than Cardiff and currently have a higher status, that is obvious to all. I don't have a problem with that
Well the fact ive worked in and around cardiff and the valleys for years is why what i say is correct .The only reason you may have a few extra supporting you from the city is because of your prem experience, they will soon fade back into obscurity . Actually was in Cardiff yesterday, and i saw ONE cardiff shirt..and it was red!.. most are from outside of cardiff plain and simple and thats been the way for years. Again, its also very true that most swans fans come from swansea, of course there are fans from further west but they are a minority compared to our core support, its why when our club needed to be saved the local people turned out and when you tried to do the same you had jut a few hundred, until eventually it caught on to the masses in the valleys and you eventually had one big march about 3 yrs too late. I know all there is to know as alot of my mates are Cardiff fans ,not plastic ones either, but proper ones that used to go when you only had 1,900 watching you
Yeah you're massive aren't you.If the anti cardiff post offends then you're not obliged to read them .
It just mentioned on the News that the Swans start their pre-season in Chicago today while Kairdiff begin theirs in Haverfordwest ....... I wonder if they're staying in Kiln Park.
BBC are at it again. They just mentioned that Cardiff beat Haverfordwest 3-0 while the Swans start off their Premiership campaign at Man United. Is there a new script writer at the BBC hailing from St Thomas
Doesn't anyone know the people who do the motorway LED road signs? Should have read Next exit for Swansea West - home of Premier League Football
Sorry, my mistake.. I didn't take into account that you must have met every resident of Cardiff, or even have them on Facebook sorry Yeah, 1,900 Norway, being only 25 myself, I remember as a 12 year old watching us from the Bob bank against Milwall on a Tuesday night with 11,000 there, times change, football changes, and I guess so do fans. New stadium's also change things as you guys now average around 19 - 20,000 a game, right?
There's a few people on this thread who can grovel now Season ticket holders in affected areas had letters yesterday saying their view was restricted by the new screens
