That thread had people calling each other lefties, right wing nuts, Marxists and Nazi's, it was far from just a discussion about newspapers.

doesn't really answer the question though . I always thought religion and politics was outlawed to stop pointless squabbling . . . . . then i read any other thread on any other subject and too wondered why Politics was taboo . every thread can and does descend into name calling and abuse , so i too wonder why politics is banned when its not football related
Because, you see, by removing ones head from their body, you totally nullify their ability to repeat the offence that caused their decapitation. Satisfaction can be taken from the knowledge that they'll never bother you again. You can even stick it on a pike to remind you of said Schadenfreude.
Stick a decapitated head on a fish? That's weird. Would the fish have been beheaded too? Would it be preserved in formaldehyde, Damien Hirst like?
If you want to discuss politics, go on General Chat, or go on CI Plus. Anyone who's been on there will already know why we have a no politics/no religion rule.
