I'm surprised to see there's not much about it on here, that was the best away day ever. These europeans know how to enjoy football. You find yourself liking the opposition cos they're so welcoming and friendly. The trouble obviously wasn't nice, but it wasn't anything to do with Lokeren's fans from what I can gather. They were a delight from start to finish. I bumped into loads of people. Saw OLM serenading a police horse at one point. The atmosphere in the square and on the ferry both ways was amazing. Full of City fans singing Don't Sell McShane* and belting out Caravan of Love, which I'm now convinced we should adopt as our song. *I posted on here months ago that I hoped we could get a Belgian or Dutch side, go on the ferry and sing Don't Sell McShane, it's crazy but TypicalCity that it worked out that way.
Went by plane due to work commitments but given the chance again it's ferry for me! Yeah great day and hope to do it all again soon! My son is 12 and he's been to wembley 3 times, watching premier league football and a European trip! Think we were born too early eh?
I'm nearer your son's age. Started going in 98 just before we stopped being ****, but can't remember much before 03-04. I think I timed it pretty well.
