Well that definitely had the feel of an "early season game". Probably both deserved to lose that. I do hope Pellé has something that I haven't quite seen yet. Thank God we've kept Morgan... It's a point. That's a plus. Forster did well. And.....umm.....yeah....
This will be so far down the list on MOTD tonight it will almost be early for next week. Turgid stuff. FT: Southampton 0-0 WBA
Lack of quality in the final third, neither team looks like they have much firepower and creativity. Going to be a long hard season for both teams if we continue like this, just don't see where the goals are going to come from.
Dreadful game. Pelle was awful, and he needs to want the ball lot more than he appears to at the moment, but early days!
well, we're off the board I suppose. Brings us down to earth after the performance of last week. With our current attacking unit I think we are going to really struggle to break down teams like West Brom at home
We will be so far down the pecking order on MOTD we will on about Thursday. Pelle was awful must do much better.
That was pants really. 8 days 'till the transfer window closes. If we don't get someone wide in during the next week we'd better start giving Isgrove some game time.
Yup, Pelle was the weak link today. He needs to understand that in the EPL he's gonna have surly CB's basically glued to him all game. He was constantly being outmuscled and outfought. Forster was good though and i even liked a bit of Shane Longs link up (that chest down for tadic was marvellous.)
I'm no happier than the rest of you, but as time went on the more important it became that we avoided two defeats on the trot. Going to see that as a bad day at the office where we managed to escape with a point. This is the point in the season where we get a nice Cup win to settle nerves.
The worry for me was not so much his understanding but his awkward mobility. There were times there he made the memory of Rickie look like a gymnast, and that takes some doing.
Yes this is also very true. They shut the game down well, and ultimately nobody deserved any more than a point. Credit to Irvine though, he has them set up in a defensive sense very well, seeing as he was the comedy managerial appointment of the summer.
Mustn't jump to too many conclusions. We are a good side, still settling in. Had a lot of possession, but too few chances.
TBF to Pelle, there wasn't much he could do with most of those wayward and/or floaty crosses. He could have played better but I don't think he would have made a difference one way or the other. WBA is good at getting draws, and they played well at the back. We had plenty of games just like this last year so I don't think it can just be blamed on Koeman or Pelle.
