I dunno what Burnsy saw but Maguire lost every challenge, every time he won the ball it was a foul (whether in the air or on the floor) and he kept passing it into the stand like Bruce.
I dunno how much you drank but he was nowhere near that bad. He got everything done but just made a meal of it all. Passing was all good though.
He put it into the stand under no pressure on more than one occasion. He looked to me as if he'd never played with a proper ref. He was keen on getting a foot in from behind his man but it was a foul every time and he didn't learn. I'm sure he'll get better cos his mistakes were mostly naivety and a lack of composure rather than physical constraints or lack of skill. Can't say I noticed his weight at all.
We might just get to see him Sunday if Bruce is still out, if HDM predictions are right, unless SB goes for McShane which frankly I would prefer.
I'm sure McShane is next in the pecking order. Mind I'm sure he was third choice last season, now it seems Bruce has overtaken him.

I think the Bruce family are looking at the wider picture, if Dawson does come in, then Alex will be likely to be surplus, If they can get him to another club on a 3 year contract then his future in the game is assured at least for the next few year.
the point is, Alex should be surplus anyway - his dad got him a run in the cup final ( it was his first game in the FA cup which is why Faye was pissed off as he was dropped to accommodate Junior) and he got him playing in Europe - bucket list ticked he can now move on to play at his standard which for the avoidance of doubt, isn't in the Prem
