Interesting that Richard Hughes goes to Goodwood today over York. Tells you all you need to know about the chances of Beacon today.....! With that in mind, i'm going to be following Hughes today and going with 2.55 Magic City and 4.05 Mystic Jade
he also rides Windsor tonight.....in the last two -one for cumani the other for his boss- .... doing a lucky 15 , DebDebDeb 3 20 N/t Cool Sky 5 20 Cart Hooded 5 50 G -( hope your right Boris !) CatchtheMoonlight 5 55 Cartmel -Nap best of luck today people -competitive stuff at many meetings...
Magic City has a very good record over course and distance in the 2.55 at Goodwood. Richard Hughes takes the mount and will need some luck in running from stall 15 like he did with Sole Power in the Nunthorpe! I have slight preference for Heavy Metal in the race. Even though I've backed Pallasator in the Ebor, Ted Veale shouldn't be discounted as he was 4th in last year's renewal on rain softened ground.
Afternoon chaps Hopeful selections today at York, include Vent De Force, Sir Walter Scott and I'm Fraam Govan, and because they are in the comp coupled with Connecticut, Mighty Yar and Lyn Valley. In the lucky last, Lexington Abbey and Online Alexander against the field. I'd also done Baitha Alga and Beacon in a RFC before reading Brough's comment above! In the comp - still waiting for Steve, Smokin and Attivo ...... EDIT: Just Smokin now Good luck all
Agree with ROTO on Ted Veale in the Ebor. Last years's favourite is available at 20/1 with Bet365, 5 places. Draw not considered ideal but completely blew the start from a good draw last year and finished 4th on ground that was far from ideal. Better ground and similar mark must give him an outstanding chance.
Can't wait to see if they allow Mantou to take 4th place, he was across the line but only with his hands around the horses neck. The big gamble Uradel ran a huge race when taking into account how much he pulled through the first half of the race.
and they won't .... feet on floor probably breaks the rules! Fair play to the jock for trying though - bet he's demon on the bucking bull machine!
Why do they still hold onto Magic city for too long, that's three times he has finished running, it must surely be worth a go to come a furlong earlier and should he run out of steam then so be it. Unless you are Kingman there is always a limit to how many length can be made up in a furlong.
James Doyle got caught in Captain Cat's last performance and imagined he really was Dancing Brave. Shocker.
Sir Walter Scott and/or Mighty Yar are second legs of ew doubles with previous winner Vent De Force (20-1 last night) Everything crossed!
Nice to see the old boy Al Kazeem back with a win. Wonder will they fancy sending him over for the Irish Champion again? Someone's got to finish second after all!
