Not fussed about that game tbh, as it is midweek and I can't watch it, and only the League Cup. It's gonna be a rotten season as I am going to not see so many games, so I have to make the most of those few games that are screened worldwide.
They were pretty dreadful and 4 or 5 would have not shown just how poor they were. Not that I feel sorry for them.
I know you can't draw such conclusions on the basis of just one game, but Mick McCarthy looks as though he performed a miracle in getting them into the top half of the championship last year.
If that team (Ipswich) can almost get into the play-offs, it will be a major failure if we fail to make the play-offs this year.
Very bitter on the Binmen's board and I bit This is what I posted over there: Having grown up in the seventies and having to live through the eighties living in Ipswich's shadow, I'm absolutely loving this. When I think of the team that they had back then and the absolute tinpot club they have now become it beggars belief. What a hot-bed of football eh ? Couldn't even fill their ground for the derby, shocking. I could never fathom how come a small town side could 'out punch' their larger City neighbours, I guess it just proves just how great Sir Bobby was. Keep banging on about your monochrome history and what you have won in the past because on today's evidence I doubt you will ever ply your trade in the top flight again. RIP 1p5wich Towan P.S. It's no good coming out with the "you were poor but we were worse" line cos it doesn't wash. We have a cracking chance of returning to the EPL with the squad we've got and well you know it. Sticks in the craw doesn't it guys ? OTBC - THE PRIDE OF ANGLIA
Defo regarding Hoolahoops and also agree with defensive line-up. Whittaker a weakness, hopefully Bennett is OK
I don't think they expected to win today they seem to know their place now KIO. Also apart from the first combined effort you are 100% win on your very decent threads, you have to keep doing them now.
Just read the match report on the BBC, written by Chris Osbourne, who is obviously a Binner. His opening was ...Norwich City survived a late Ipswich Town onslaught to win the first East Anglian derby in more than three years. WTF, onslaught, what ****ing game was he watching - how about the Norwich City onslaught for 85 minutes!!
I would hazard a guess that this 'onslaught' is a relative term - they managed 2 shots on target all game!
They had a period of pressure for about 10 minutes early in the second half. That was literally it. He can't have watched the game.
