Sorry, you wrote it as if you were questioning why I have an opinion. That's how I read it anyway. I'd leave because we are offering too much.
Welbeck has been told he can leave Manchester United...I don't understand why we aren't turning most of our attentions to that. Atleast he's Premier League standard. Rhodes isn't worth £12mill...nevermind PLUS two players.
Agreed.Lets get Welbeck. Plus Alex will help Jones and Smalling understand how to play 3 at the back.
Time to look elsewhere for me. Rhodes isn't even a starter in the Scotland first 11 so Gordon Strachan doesn't rate him that highly. In fact he seems to rate McCormack and Fletcher higher, and I'm not sure any of us would be spunking over those two.
Honestly believe that if Rhodes joins us he will score the goals that will justify the outlay. A great finisher of chances and given the right service he's surely going to put his fair share away.
Feel fairly sure that this deal is dead in the water and its time to look elsewhere, it would appear from the Blackburn rovers statement that they are after stupid money, would understand it a lot better if we were involved in a bidding war with other clubs, but it would appear no one else is interested in paying what's turning out to be silly money.
"#rovers owners Venky's have turned down Hull City's bid to sign striker Jordan Rhodes, insisting they do not want to sell him." "My understanding Hull City were willing to pay more than £10m plus add ons, for the striker, and include a player as part of the deal."
The Venky's statement has effectively burnt their bridges. They've pretty much committed the club to keeping him now. Only Rhodes can break the dead-lock by asking for a transfer. It's a bloody shame because he's exactly what we need, but Bruce needs to move on while there's still time to find an alternative.
Nah someone off Twitter but it doesn't let me quote their name. The Hull City News guy retweeted him.
