My son often tells me that I shouldn't support a football team...supporting Saints has given a hostage to fortune. I virtually hide whilst they are playing and keep turning the TV on and off as if I think that affects the result. I used to get chest pains at St Mary's (now of course, I know I had heart problems)...I haven't been brave enough yet to risk returning....are 3 stents enough
Can't help feeling a bit anxious about this one. On the one hand we have an exciting new manager who looks like he might have a plan b, New players to freshen things up and want to play for us, a good performance last week and a better team than West Brom. On the other hand it's Saints 2-0 Saints.
Nervous and excited as i have always been on match days when Saints are playing. Really looking forward to it today. Missing my son sitting next to me at SMS today but he is on the other side of the world earning money ( yay ! ) and will be listening to it on radio 5Live with his new Saints shirt on. His predictions are always outrageously optimistic so i am going for one of his today, even though i think WBA will be a very capable opponent - 3-0 Saints !
Really looking forward to this one. I think that we have the quality to beat West Brom and on paper should win this comfortably. However as one man said , it's played on grass and anything can happen. We need to win this one or the performance last week will count for nothing. COYR !
Always nervous when all the media predict a Saints win, though it is good that they have accepted that we are not nailed on for relegation. Even the WBA manager was full of praise after watching us at Anfield...suggesting we will have another good season. Just need the lads to walk the walk...COYR.
We are all the same. I am a very analytical and scientific person. I can see that if I put the left shoe on before the right it won't effect my day, just as if I walk under a ladder there is no more chance of bad luck than if i didn't (well except for if I go in the road to avoid the ladder and get run over). BUT, when it comes to football that is all thrown out of the window! If we score and I'm listening on the radio, I turn it off as my listening could influence it. If there are 5 minutes to go and we're winning, they are bound to score, but if we are losing we never will. I always have to shave on match days and have to use the same turnstile. An interesting fact (well not really) is that I drive only 4 or 5 times a season to a game. In the last EIGHT years, if I have driven to a match, we have never won. I'm driving today...........
''If we score and I'm listening on the radio, I turn it off as my listening could influence it. If there are 5 minutes to go and we're winning, they are bound to score, but if we are losing we never will. '' Snap!
I wore the same clothes (washed in between) during every germany match at the WC for exactly those reasons...that somehow my choice of attire will affect the outcome.
Shouting la la la with your fingers in yours ears and shutting your eyes when the opponents have a free kick or penalty helps as well.
Looking forward to this. Couldn't watch last week due to travelling over a bumpy English channel. 2-0 Saints! Tadic and Pelle.
It was excellent thank you Lamby .....was hoping to be home for the game but with the m25 living up to its reputation as the worlds biggest car park ...I had to listen to it on talk sport. Jet lag was also a bugger, should have taken Monday off. How was your trip Lamby ? Did mrs Lamby allow you to use the internet?
Not officially! It was good thanks although Mrs L spent too much time and money in the shopping village #stoneybroke
Opposite for me Lamby in our hotel the all inclusive was so good apart from tipping,we only spent money on one excursion which was only £60. In fact in Vallatra I ordered the wife to shop just to spend the pesos Wifi was crap where we were so I got really behind on saints news. Met a couple of Everton fans in the hotel who certainly knew their football and they both predicted us to finish 10th-14th. #needanotherholiday
If not at the match I always offer to do the cooking. Stomping off to do battle with a naked chicken or (best) mash them potatoes when things are stressful works wonders for me. Made me a little lazy though since we returned to the Prem, always a live stream somewhere to be viewed. And apparently I'm in great demand with young russian ladies for some reason.
FSI always offer options - http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/index.html Make sure you have decent malware stuff installed (avast or panda free do the job) or like me use linux.
