This would make sense Green if they were sulking. They're not. They aren't coming back. That's not sulking, it's taking a decision to leave permanently.
If so this forum will be the poorer, for a while. But life, footy, stuff will go on. The Forum will recover/change. In a year's time who will remember. I just think it' a nose/spite/face situation which they will regret. Anyways, can I just offer a quick thanks to this list for (ages ago now) giving me the heads up on Fallout 3. Bought it but never played until the prompts from here. I and mini greensaint are bonding nicely over it last couple of eves
New Vegas was better. A little buggy but better written...more in keeping with the original fallout games.
Indeed. The trouble is that without the input of the likes of DTLW and Beef, this becomes a much more boring place. For all the talk of perhaps now some lurkers will post (though if people weren't posting through fear of Joe and Dan, I'd suggest that perhaps they're unlikely to be offering a whole lot), the fact is that many more lurkers and occasional posters will have been coming here to read the insights of those two (plus the fantastic amount of work DTLW did in keeping us all up to date) - not to read about knitwear and motorbikes, so they'll all bugger off too now. The part that annoys me most is that despite the scale of the reaction, and the loss of all these good posters, there seems to have been no point at which the mods have got together or said "hold on, perhaps we may have got this a bit wrong". The wilfulness of youth meets the stubbornness of age. Result being, everybody loses out. Great.
That's a very large chunk of the forum. I'm sure some (hopefully all) will come back in time, this place will become a ghost town if not.
You know what would be a smart move by the Mods right now? (Just in my opinion) - why doesn't one stand down (if it's so burdensome) and offer a 'mod-ship' to one of the younger characters here to give it some balance (rather than an exclusive 50+ club). I dunno? Someone like DTLW would be smart. Then maybe people would come back. No idea if they would, but seems sensible.
Shame if true.....at no times have any of these guys offended me with their posts. In fact Beefy and DTLW kept me up with information I would/may have otherwise missed. And with FLT, Schad,MMJ I will miss their wit and banter....just hope it don't become a ghost town on here.
It's a real shame, especially if it is down to the last sentence; not to downplay anyone's strong feelings on the matter.
Okay, well you know what I mean - it's not a great overall representation of the community here that tends to have young posters too. I'm just trying to suggest a way around this Chilco.
Are we missing qwerty as a mod? Only 24 if I remember correctly ? But I will say chilcosaint has done a good job since coming in since qwerty stepped down.
He's ok, bit too clever if you ask this geriatric (forgets to put cheeky smiley). Difficult considering most footy forum's makeup, but maybe a female mod would be a good idea.
