Its strange isnt it. we are slaughtering MM for what he has done and he should be dealt with by possibly the FA, many people are saying he sholudnt work again in football. Yet people like Lee Hughes, Lee Mckormick, Marlon King and there a lot of others wh have done an awful lot worse we are happy to have in football, makes no sense to me. When Ched Evans is released and signs for a club, their fans will be singing his name when he scores the winner in a game, yet he is a convicted rapist.

I think youll find that loads of people were saying and are saying again with Evans they shouldnt be allowed in the game.

Ched Evans is going to be absolutely slaughtered. Coleman should not pick him for Wales in my opinion and id never want him in a Cardiff shirt.

Thing is there are more opportunities for players to get a club. Getting the top job at a club will be difficult.

The man has been an absolute idiot.

I don't agree to anyone losing their job over their beliefs or private thoughts. The problem is MM is a very public figure who should be careful what he says and does because of his position as a role model. Most MM supporters are now seeing him in a different light because of the recent revelations.
However, he hasn't been found guilty of any charges and is still deemed innocent in the eyes of the law. If found guilty by the FA and penalised will there then be police intervention and will he be tried in a court of law under the race hate crime banner?
The guys you have mentioned were found guilty and served there time, if MM is tried and found guilty will he get a custodial sentence or a fine? Whatever happens he will still be tainted goods but will find a job in football, he won't get a high profile job because he will have to prove himself all over again.
I guess it's all about giving people a second chance and allow them to show they have learned their lesson.

I doubt there's any criminal charges that can be laid against Malky on this racism issue - unless of course there's some financial irregularities that might yet unfold that would take all this in a different direction.

What I find strange in this matter is why the club initially presented the report to the LMA and to MM. What action did they expect those to take? I would have thought it should have been sent to the LMA and the FA at the same time.

The LMA solicitors were acting on Malky & Moody's behalf, so Cardiff done the decent thing and informed them first, saying that they will give Malky & Moody time to go to the FA themselves.

It has been reported that the LMA solicitors advised them not to comply, so Cardiff done the only thing open to them, informed the FA.

I heard tpday that the LMA do not represent Moody as he is not a manger. But they do need to look at themselves for doing nothing.

This whole episode has a feel of deja vu to it - I remember similar discussions in the immediate aftermath of Richard Keys and Andy Gray's high profile sackings by sky. And, cards on the table, I feel a bit sorry for Mackay and Moody (to a point).

All of the texts sent are completely wrong. However (and we will leave the racist texts to a side at the moment) whether anybody here likes it or not (and I don't, by the way) Sexism and homophobia are completely ingrained in footballing culture. Before you get on your high horses and shout at me, just consider, for one moment, what responses you would expect to get if you walked in to a pub full of male football fans passionately discussing football, or walked in to a testosterone filled changing room, and mentioned gay footballers or women's football.

Now - this is key - the vast, vast majority of football fans, and football players, do not have a sexist or homophobic bone in their body. And the vast, vast majority of fans and players would, over a coffee in civilised discussion, be completely and correctly supportive of gay footballers and women's football. However, in a room full of alpha males where bravado is paramount, I would bet every penny I have that sexist and homophobic discussion routinely goes on behind closed doors.

Now, from what I can gather, all the texts Malky has been criticised for where sent in private, during an immensely stressful period of time, between two bravado fuelled men whos friendship was probably based entirely on macho male discussion. I imagine Malky had thousands of conversations with friends, family members and strangers on the street in which he was 100% supportive of footballers from all walks of life.

This DOES NOT MAKE IT OK - However I think it is very important to consider the scenario. They were private messages. I abhor sexism and homophobia. However - can I honestly say that if one of my footballing friends sent a 'haha arent I funny, heres a sexist comment about women in football' text that I wouldnt, without thinking, reply in kind? Can anybody here, hand on heart, say that if their phone was confiscated and every text message analysed there would be nothing worth batting an eyelid over?

Regarding 'chink' and 'no white faces' - well that is where the case for the defense ends, as there is literally no defense. This is not normal. At least not unless football has changed greatly, and in a very worrying way. I hope to god that sort of language is not normal in the pub discussions, or the changing room discussions. There is no accounting for those texts and I wont attempt to.

Pop, that's all a bit apologist. We are talking about people at the most senior level in football. Pressure is the norm so no excuse. If this lot can't behave correctly then no one can and the whole system is doomed to fail. And they should do regardless of their beliefs, whatever they may be.
Maybe Malky would be better off if he had some penalty to pay or serve so he can get this behind him. Not sure what his advivers or legal team said but they can't have been hoping, some months ago, that this would go away?

I watched MM interview last night on SSN and he did not come across very well. He has been ill-advised and it appears, if you read the Mail this morning, he lied. Lots of people on this forum believed Moody leaked information to the press. Take a look at the this article. Has Moody put the boot in?

    Interesting extract from the article:
"He relayed his feelings to Moody, who replied: ‘He told me he had an offer to go there but will never accept because the manager is a racist. Thankfully he hasn’t met you.’"

Bizarre indeed that if MM has racist tendencies (I'm not saying he has, and it certainly hasn't been proven) why in the hell did he take the Cardiff job knowing the owner was of Chinese origin and that most of the board were not British. Seems a strange environment to put yourself in.

Unfortunately, being a racist (and I'm not saying he is) does not exclude anyone from "taking the shilling" from, and seeking their own personal glory through those you despise.

The idea is you don't let your feelings become public knowledge through carelessness. There will always be someone out there to take you down.

Just hope that this sorts itself out swiftly. If the allegations are true, MM is one confident or arrogant guy to try and bluff it out with Tan and expect to win. Hope things find a middle ground or the anti-Tan / pro-MM brigade might find the opposition further separated and standing behind Tan.

With the season underway, all fans should be stood 100% behind Ole and the team and to let the crap regarding Moody and MM sort itself out in the background. this should be another exciting footballing season for us and could be a springboard back to the premier league with a view to staying there. We can't afford more off the field distractions.

Fortunately a large percentage of the squad came post MM and shouldn't get distracted by the issues.

Interesting that no-one seems to have got a quote from Bellamy yet as he seemed quite close to MM even though there was evidence of them disagreeing at times.

The important thing for today is another 3 points.

You are of course right. And again, I only slightly sympathise with Malky. What he and Moody were discussing were not discussions you would expect to hear between adults in civilised discussion.

My take on the situation was not that Malky is a victim here - more that he is a million miles from the only villain. I guarantee there are other employed managers in the league currently who have said similar and worse things in private conversation. It is a culture problem.

I think you're spot on correct there Popbank - it's a very common trait in the male dominated game. The point this proves is if they are to be outed, it doesn't happen by accident. You need someone with a purpose (or even an agenda) to do it.

There is no doubt that Tan had that in spades. Rightly but for his own reasons, Malky and Moody have been nailed to the wall by Tan.

What apparently started as an investigation into financial aspects of their dealings has uncovered unsavoury characteristics in the pair of them that may well be commonplace in the game. Once discovered it became alike a runaway train that was bound to be reported.

After reading the BBC, I was totally stunned.

What a prick MM turns out to be!

Sad such a prick was our manager.

Looks like Vinnie has acted properly with Milky after all.

If you checked the texts on all players and managers in football youd find 95% of them have something offensive on them . Pure witch hunt by a begrudging and controlling chairman , with all the suck up fans in red in tow .

Sadly my guess is that managers and associated staff will be busy deleting text messages from their phones as we speak. While these messages of Malky's were never intended to be made public the first response from the LMA made the situation even worse and seems to confirm that racism is endemic in even the highest echelons of the game. Tan's investigation has set in motion a chain of events that have acquired their own momentum. While to some extent MM might be a victim, the investigation has revealed that there is an underlying problem that persists despite the efforts made to drive racism out of the game. One thing is certain. Managers, players and all organisations associated with the game will be very careful in future about what is written in their texts and e mails.
