Just out of interest, I heard rumours (strong ones at that) that we may be in for Rhodes with an unknown player (I reckon Bruce Jr.) thrown in as a sweetener. Welbeck is available but were not in the running as he's not allowed to go to a direct (mid table) rival. He'll go to Spurs, Everton or one of the other top clubs.

No one can argue with Rhodes consistent goal scoring record over the past few seasons even at championship level and the way the market is at present we will just have to pay the fee which Blackburn are after. The Tigers have been crying out for a proven goal scorer for longer than I care to remember, we have to take a small risk and recruit the best available in the marketplace and someone who is willing to play for the club without upsetting the harmony in the group, Welbeck would be an excellent signing but to be realistic I cannot see that one coming off this season - Rhodes is the best we could possibly get at the moment.
