In my top 5 all time films....If anyone hasn't got a lump in their throat when the Chief picks up the water fountain then they have no soul. Jack Nicholson's performance as McMurphy is perfection.
I just got back from Dam this morning. The traffic system is confusing at first but I got used to it by the time I left. When youve learnt it you understand It's a very sophisticated system, very well worked out. The cyclists all seem used to tourists wandering into their lane and are quick on their bells, but I did spend a lot of time spinning around with bikes whizzing past me. It's even more confusing if you've just walked out of one of the Coffeeshops.
For me this is a no brainer and anyone who has done any sort of research on the subject I believe would agree. The Hillsborough tragedy is well documented and the cause of this was as much poor crowd control as it was the terracing itself. The Taylor report was good for football but the simplistic message that people took from it was that seats are good and standing is bad. The rail seat takes away one of the fundamental problems of the old terracing and thats an allocated standing position. People will no longer be squeezed in like sardines or gathered around the best viewing points. The rails prevent any surges forward and are actually safer than fans standing in seated areas. How many people have you seen at games fall forward during a goal celebration? What I would say as a slight against with Rail seating is that I don't believe it should be the only option at grounds. Seating has welcomed in many fans who would have avoided the terraces because they can sit and enjoy a match with a comfortable view. This should not be taken away as an option and would probably still be the majority choice.
England U19 cricket match on Sky 2. We set 213 and South Africa (World Champions at this level) are 37-4 after 15 overs. Enjoyable match. SA 62-5 SA 62-6
Seems odd to not come on here at protest to not being allowed on here. Painting yourself into a corner comes to mind...unless they never intend to return. I have learnt in life to wait before making threats...otherwise you have to stick to them (even if you later change your mind).
Anyway...back to the exciting cricket updates. SA now 88-8. England heading for a 5-0 whitewash. Good to see good youngsters coming through.
Joe and Dan niggled at the mods and got themselves a 48 hr ban (now over). Others have joined in in protest.
