If he goes he will be missed (I read somewhere that he conceded less goals per minutes played than any keeper other than Cech last season) but IMO he is one of those keepers who, if his heart/head is not in the right place, would be a liability.
Pity, he`s one of my favourite players. I`d have been happy to keep Boruc for at least a couple of more seasons, bringing in a younger, quality keeper as back-up and grooming (that doesn`t sound right) for the future.
Boruc is awesome - sad loss if he goes but credit to him for not wanting to sit on the bench all season
If Cech stays at Chelsea why not try and get Schwarzer on a 1year deal? Then can address it next summer
And, of course, we bought him a couple of weeks after putting 9 past him! I'd still say Gazza is worse though (I haven't seen Cropper so can't comment). I'm happy with Davis, I don't think he's anywhere near as bad as some people seem to suggest.
Always liked Boruc, sad to see him go but it's best for both parties if he moves on. Can't understand the negativity against him by certain people on here
I also remember Dave McLaren and the Wolves game you mentioned where we won 9-3, from memory I think they scored first? He truly was an awful keeper, alas still not as poor as Gazza.
Arguably we have one keeper three clowns and a fifth choice who can cover in either respect but won't be here for long.
Lot of disrespect for Kelvin Davis here considering he has more than proven to be a competent goalkeeper. I believe if he had remained fit last season and was able to play when Boruc was out injured instead of Gazzaniga then we wouldn't be as concerned about him being on the bench for another season.
He may not be as bad as some make out but he wasn't good enough in his only full Premier League season and is unlikely to be better at 38 than he was at 29. He's also injured a lot these days.
Wonder how many times some people have seen Cropper play? I'm guessing, zero. But he's crap, clearly.
