Still not sure if he's a good signing or not, but he can play anywhere across the front three. Not just an out and out striker. He's a decent free kick and penalty taker too for whatever that's worth.

Have to disagree. He categorically can not play anywhere across the front three. Well he can but he'll do fack all if he's not the main striker! He does take a good penalty though but that's Slippy G's main job now.

Think he'd struggle on left or right in our system because he doesn't like to track back. But he's played on the wing numerous times in his career. He's a good runner with the ball, can take a man on and get to the byline.

Good luck playing him on the wing. He'll love that.

I'd prefer if we didn't sign him altogether but there we go.

Me too, but we'll see. I can't really see him playing on the wing - we've got enough players who can do that already and between him and Sturridge, I would think Studge is the one more likely of the two to be moved outside.

With the worry over not tracking back I disagree. Sturridge isn't the best at tracking, tbh he only does so when he either loses the ball or the opposition have It for so long. Suarez was the player who would always run back and do the dirty work.

If having two strikers who won't track back but get 40/50 goals combined then they could refuse to cross the halfway line for all I care.

If we do get him, BR will have to play the diamond system because he will have 2 players that have to play as dedicated strikers. Balo because he cant play wide and Sturridge who deserves to be main striker on merit. I really hope that the arrival of Balo doesn't disrupt Sturridge or his game.

I agree we've got better suited players for wide position if we're starting 4-3-3. But if we're changing between the diamond and 4-3-3 mid match I'd rather not see Sturridge shifted out wide for the duration. They're both capable of shifting postions with each other in a similar way to Suarez and Sturridge last year.

Either way I'm predicting 'lonely' Daniel Sturridge will steal Mario's girlfriend and eat a headbutt for his troubles.

How could she resist those danicng skills?

The rotation could work. Or you could sub one off. I guess we'll see what Brendan comes up with (Balotelli to partner Lovren as CB?)

That'll be in ten years or so, after he's gotten too leggy to play in his luxury defensive midfield role.
