While they did falter a bit against Besiktas in the midweek Champions League qualifier, Arsenal will be hoping the return of their World Cup winning German contingent will help inspire them to a victory against familiar foes. Meanwhile Everton themselves will be looking to jump start their season after a disappointing draw against Leicester. Having being boosted by the signing of Romelu Lukaku and the managerial ability of Roberto Martinez, the Toffees will be hoping they can push on with their Top 4 aspirations with a win over Arsenal. With both sides relatively being close to their full squads (Theo Walcott injured for Arsenal and Ross Barkley injured for Everton) fans can expect a frantic, close game that is likely to entertain the masses. Prediction: Everton 1-2 Arsenal
I'd prefer the Big German to start. And hopefully Wenger does go with Rosicky and OXO, or if he plays Cazorla, at least play him as the central midfield play maker.
Oxo has to start. I'd be tempted to play Ozil too. I think Chambers has been solid and there'd be no need to drop him or rush BFG back. Question is due to Artta's injury and BFG on the bench who is captain? Ramsey? Rosicky? Jack? Kos? I'd say Rozza or Rambo.
I think we are most likely to see: -------------Sczc------------- Debuchy--Mert--Kosc--Monreal --------Flamini--Ramsey------- Sanchez-----Wilshere----Cazorla -------------Giroud----------- Subs: Martinez, Chambers, Bellerin, Oxocube, Rosicky, Ozil, Campbell As i think Wenger wants to give wilshere game time. Personally i'd put Cazorla through the middle and play oxocube out wide though.
In todays press conference it sounded like pretty certain that the Ox will start..... If I could wish it would be.... -------------Sczc------------- Debuchy--Chambers--Kosc--Monreal --------Flamini--Ramsey------- Sanchez-----Carzola----Oxo -------------Giroud-----------
Wilshere and Cazorla don't deserve to be anywhere near the starting line up after their last 2 performances, we have very capable players who can come in and do the job, that's the point of having a big squad, if some players aren't playing to the level they should be, oh well them, someone else will come in and do it for them.
Wilshere hasn't really ever shown consistent class, even when he was supposedly good in 2010, he was never THAT GOOD. He has been over-rated, massively, mainly because he is English. As for Caz, for more than 1 season he hasn't impressed that much on the left wing.
Jack has it in him to be amazing but he's not there yet. We see glimmers and I'm hoping a full season will see him flourish in the same way Aaron did. Saying that, I'd drop either him or Santi to start and have an attacking 3 of AOC...Cazorla/Jack....Sanchez. As to who's captain, if Arteta's injured and Per still rested then I imagine the armband will go to Koscielny after he took it mid-game against Besiktas.
Really? Must have been going mad, could have sworn it was Kos which surprised me at the time. Ramsey being the captain for that country who's name escapes me... the little one, like sheep...bit sh*t....nah it's gone. Anyway, that experience in the few games they get each year should stand him in good stead as back-back-up!
I think Arteta gave it to Koscielny who then gave it to Ramsey, obviously doesn't fancy himself as captain
Ah right, that'd do it. I did a quick google and it confirmed Kos took the armband. Didn't see him hand it over but I was switching off for the last 20 minutes.
I've predicted an Ozil goal so they better be frickin back. No idea why AW has given his German players longer than any other manager has. Seems typically stubborn to me just to make a point to the Premier league about early start of the season.
