don't want a Championship player, esp for £10 mill plus...!! not impressed if we sign him, id rather of kept Fryatt
Great signing if true. Has a better than 1 in 2 record throughout his career. I liked fryatt but Rhodes has a far better record and is only 24.
Then who would you get from the Premier League who's a proven goalscorer? It isn't you or me he's trying to impress, Brucey doesn't have to answer to any of us except the Allams and he'll know full well that they'll be judging him on his performance very closely, especially if it's his call to bring Rhodes in. He wouldn't just pluck a name out the air, he's obviously been scouted so trust that our management team have done their homework. Trust Bruce's judgement in the transfer market, we wouldn't be in for him if he wasn't good enough and just because you think he's not shouldn't worry you.
Great signing, but if it is about 10million i'd rather we signed the boobycar and had a bit left over for some cover elsewhere
He's British and young...add another half of what we have originally offered on top and that's what they cost you! It's not like he'll have trouble settling in Hull either.
For 8 mil plus add ons I would say fair enough. He is young, keen, has a decent touch amd can score. Reminds me a bit of kevin phillips, not pacey but uses his touch to open up a chance and generally hits the target. Ok he wont run the channels but will keep centre halfs busy. His and jela ariel ability will benefit from the wing backs. Was a big fan of long, but we have quick options to run channels in ince, brady and sagbo.
As a life-long Scotland fan, I am following Hull City quite close this year and I think Jordan Rhodes would be a great signing, he's a goalscorer and has been for years. He's only 24 and knows english football and has scored goals, lots of them, at every level....I'm sure surrounded by much better players he'll excel further....at 10 million he'd be a bargain......
Well it would be, wouldn't it? We're not gonna go straight in with megabucks, it doesn't work like that.
Asked how keen he was for Rhodes to remain a part of his squad, Bowyer added: "From a footballing point of view, there's no decision to be made in my eyes. "You're guaranteed a minimum of 25 goals, which he's proved over the last four seasons. "He's the best finisher I've ever worked with. If my opinion was asked, it would be a big fat 'no' and we shouldn't sell him.
we will end up paying for him than we got for long and the whole of the Footballing World will laugh there arses off at us
Normally the first & second bid are rejected and its the 3rd & final bid that they have to think about. so if we started with 8m, which is what they paid for the kid a few seasons ago, 2nd bid is £10, that will be rejected too, then i can see us going back in with a final bid of £13m, which would mean a £5m profit for blackburn... still think they'll reject it though, they want to get promotion, Rhodes could be the player to score the goals that promotes them, and we all know how much money you get through promotion. Cant see us getting him to be honest.
