I feel we're being lulled into a trap here, ready to be ridiculed mercilessly by all 3 Ipswich fans should the worst happen.

Both teams are going to be well up for it. Adams is under no illusions how much this game means, and I think we've also got players who will be ready for a battle. Hopefully we've got the quality to go with it.

I just hope that whatever the result, it's a "fair" one. No diabolical refereeing leading to early sending offs, very dubious penalties, etc.

unable to attend this match sadly (first derby game i'll have missed since 1993 :()

i'd be perfectly happy to take a point from this game baring in mind its away, its still early in the season and ipswich must still be smarting from the last time we played them. on paper there is no comparison - city are much the stronger of the two sides - but as we all know football is played on grass (unless you support west ham) and mick mccarthy is a very canny manager at this level.

hopefully the scoreline will be similar to both our last derby fixture and indeed his:

    town 1-5 norwich
    wolves 1-5 west brom

We've got Keith Stroud as referee for the game who I can best describe as being on the same level as Andy Durso!
    <yikes>

I think you should beat us quite comfortably with the players you have but on Derby day anything can happen! I remember the 1992/93 season when you were flying high in the Premiership and we got a fantastic result at Carrow Rd on a cold December night thanks to Mr Dozzel. Unfortunately we don't have anyone with even half his ability this time round so I would happily take a draw right now!

i have to say, i think if we do win on saturday, providing we can pick up points against bournemouth and cardiff, we will begin to build some real momentum. our opening six games (wolves, watford, blackburn ipswich, bournemouth and cardiff) has to be the toughest start any club has had this season in the championship - you'd expect all to compete for the top six. the next run of games afterwards is more favourable. the crowd were right back on side tuesday evening - the atmosphere was pretty special. its a big match for us in any circumstances but it could really be a massive moment if we do win, even this early in the season. likewise ipswich will feel they could build momentum if they are the victors., though i don't see them being able to trouble the top two spots at all.

At our place i imagine we would walk it but i am yet to be assured that we can win or score away from home, obviously the last three years were at a much higher level but if Wolves is anything to go on we may struggle.

Yep another mid table finish is the best we can hope for again this season. We haven't invested anything into the squad and the new signings we have made are certainly less than underwhelming. I wouldn't be surprised if Mick is approached by Palace either! Anyhoo whatever happens I will still be supporting them as it is the hope that kills you!

ipswich's centre backs are my main worry. not because i don't think we could break them down but because they are the most lethal players in their team! defending set pieces is a major weakness for us

That's why Bennett has to start for me. Much better defending ariel balls than Martin.

I have tickets in the home area for me and my new squeeze due to my post code not being NR.

We will be wearing a mulberry cap and will be speaking in very camp voices.

Hopefully we should blend in ok.

With Bennett and Turner need to get a run together they are both good in the air defending and attacking. We look so much more secure with them together.

didn't you need to have applied for at least ten ipswich tickets prior to applying for tickets to this game in order to stop us lot infiltrating the home ends?

something you want to tell us?

    ;)

I am an openly gay man.

Do you have an issue with that?

Got my tickets through a business contact.

I think Supers joke was that it sounded like you had bought ten tickets to different Ipswich games before this match - that was all he was implying IMO, i.e. you're actually a Binner. It was definitely a light-hearted comment and not at all about your sexuality
