Being Scottish, I bet you have still got one of those brick-sized ones like Michael Douglas had in Wall Street <ok>

What we haven't heard is whether the SMS messages originated from Moody or Mackay. If Mackay were the recipient of them then there is a question of culpability. The same applies to the transfer dealings. If Mackay was aware of what Moody was doing or indeed benefitted from it in a pecuniary way then there would be culpability. The fact that Moody has resigned suggests that he recognises his own part in this. What has to be shown is who did what, with what, to whom. I am surprised by the allegations against Mackay who I had thought to be a decent man and manager (we can all be wrong), but the evidence had already stacked up against Moody and I am not surprised in that case.

Who will Crippled Alice now employ?
If allegations of latent racism - receiving a racial slur/comment on your phone, are sufficient to prevent employment, the world has become a strange place and Palace will struggle to find the holiest of holy managers.

If Mackay originated the SMS then I am saddened that someone, who reportedly used to room with and was "mates" CP when a player, should have such a dual standard of ethics in the current era. However, we are not dealing with members of the Royal Academy or politicians here, but football managers whose use of earthy descriptions is well known.
Like Vol I don't like Tan for what his arrogance has done to Cardiff City, however, he has every right to highlight corruption that has robbed him of personal money and seek the truth as to the person responsible. He could at least have waited until Steve Parrish had made the appointment to release the dossier since it could have been a double strike for Selhurst.

I used to come out with worse jokes when I was twelve.

MM has always come across as a bit of a smug tit.

If the other dude fiddled some cash, he needs to go down for it.

It seems as though VT has kept theses nuggets for a rainy day.

    The world has gone mad.

We all know football's a dirty business, every so often someone gets caught, pays the price and things carry on as before. Dodgy deals are the norm, are they not? A bit like MP's expenses, when everybody else is doing it it doesn't seem wrong. Look at FIFA's smug complacent attitude- they are 100% certain they can do what they like, corruption has become an integral part of that organisation. When Curbs said in his book that no agent would ever be able to point a finger at him it marked him out as a manager of unusual integrity, may even be part of the reason why he doesn't work.

No surprise to see Herman Ouseley (pronounced Ooze-lie) crawl out of the woodwork to demand some sort of enquiry, even though Moody has quit and MM is now effectively unemployable.

There is actually an industry in this country that thrives on racially motivated fake offence.

Fair point. Envisage the mother of all law suits if MacKay has been wronged over this.

Don't see a problem. Sounds like they were thieving, and got caught. They have since been found to be sending racially offensive messages back and forth (the fine drtails escape me....i just skimmed through this). Technically, they were private messages, so no one needed to be offended until the messages were outed, but while I agree (a bit) with Volly's idea about right to privacy (why does it only apply to the British?), you can't blame VT for where these guys arre now.
Anyone want them at the Valley?

Mackay has pointed out that there is no allegation that the messages originated from his phone The transfer dealings appear to have been in the province of former palace employee Moody who was also the party to be receiving emails from the players in the Cardiff dressing room. If Tan has just used the opportunity to wreck McKays career then it is a very nasty piece of work. The league managers association appear to be working with McKay something you would think they would not do if the evidence stacked the other way.

As Vol says imagine the mother of all law suits

Gotta say that I'm with Vol on this (twice in a week I've agreed with him, might have to bring forward my psycological evaluation :emoticon-0110-tongu)

If Mackay has been up to shenanigans with bungs and iffy transfer dealings he deserves to have the book thrown at him.

However, IMHO private correspondance between him and his mate (Moody) that is in no way linked to transfer wrong doing ought to remain their business.

Unfortunately the situation in 2014 is now clear and the more high profile you are the more you must be careful. Anything you write in any medium no matter how private can be found out. Quite simply all near the mark opinions and jokes must be kept to verbals - we have had enough instances now (Scudamore etc) to make that clear. It's hideous, its thought police but its the modern world. So if you get caught having written something, you have dug your own grave.
In the mean time Mike Tyson has it bang on! Palarse are doing a fabulous job in snatching glorious defeat from what was looking like a depressing victory. Ha ha.

By the way new poster so hello all. It is so quiet at work I thought I'd join in. Basically I want to be ready to pile in to the next Vol/Reams flare up which has provided marvelous entertainment. I have read both forums from afar for a while now and was always drawn towards ITTV but after the latest contributons from Reams and his continued obsessive rantings on the other site, I think this is the place to be! One more thing, when the original 606 was taken down what happened to A2C? Did he follow Parky to Bradford and now posts in Geoff Boycott speak?

Welcome aboard - I assume the name is dedicated to kyel Reid, and not Andy? <cheers>

A2C has been on here in bursts under a different user name, and no longer using the slang speak. Funnily enough, he still comments on certain bbc articles with the famous language, so maybe it's a bbc thing?

    Welcome Reidy <cheers>

I see that Reams (hic :emoticon-0168-drink) is now claiming to have written to not 606 HQ in Guernsey (LOL) in a bid to get this site taken down <doh>

Honestly, you would need a heart of stone not to laugh at the Cardiff supporting buffoon.

As for a2c - a great loss to this site, but all of the other original posters are here, apart from houndal <ok>

Sorry Super, wrong on both counts! I am of an 80s vintage - I chose to name myself after a man who played left back for a few successful seasons back in the 80s. A quite marvelous understated no frills player, I don't think he made a single error of note in a fair few appearances and he was one of those who was incapable of mising a penalty. I give you Mark Reid, my favourite Scotsman. Anyway this is off topic - must go an lie down now I am so dewey eyed.
