2 very different types of player. I wasn't trying to infer that Balotelli is as good a footballer - he isn't. But both players have 'history' as I said earlier and therein lies the similarity. However, unless we refuse to feed him, I doubt that Balotelli is going to get banned in the same way (or with the same frequency) that Suarez did. At £16 million he's a steal!
A lot of similarities. Both have a questionable temperament, but unquestionable talent. If we sign Mario, he'll be of a similar age to Suarez when we signed him. Both had high scoring seasons prior to joining - Suarez had more goals, but Mario arguably scored in a tougher league. Time will tell on this, but it would certainly give us an extra attacking edge in games. Balotelli gives defenders a torrid time. He doesn't know what he'll do from moment to moment so defenders have no chance of guessing what he'll try. If we don't get the same goals that Suarez gave us, we may still have the unexpected 'surprise' element that Suarez gave us in many games last year (and the year before that). I hope BR can work his magic and turn Mario into a fantastic signing for us if the transfer occurs.
Didny say he was better. Just less of a problem and with balotelli, that problem will effect the who team.
Actually, no. It was last night, but the one I think you're referring to was Benteke. It was far from certain at the time, though he was being considered by Rodgers.
Mario Balotelli: Liverpool agree £16m fee for AC Milan striker By Ben Smith BBC Sport Comments (357) Liverpool have agreed a £16m fee with AC Milan to sign former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers wants the Italy international, 24, to strengthen his attack after last season's top scorer Luis Suarez joined Barcelona. Balotelli moved to Milan for £19m from City last year and has scored 30 goals in 54 games for the Serie A club. Liverpool travel to Etihad Stadium in their next Premier League match on Monday. Negotiations are still taking place to agree terms with the player.
Shame it wasn't Balotelli. I thought your mate had finally got his hands on some top secret intel for once.
This could be as successful as the robbie keane transfer. Its got all tyr makings. A striker who is so similar to tge otger striker you have that it jusr wont work. Added bonus of this guy being a clown who believes hes the best player in the world. In effect youve signed nicolas bendtners. Ask yourselves, why are ac milan desperatr to get rid. Refusing a loan so he never returns... Come to think of it, which of his clubs havent been desperate to get rid?
Robben... Benteke... A few more years and we'll be able to form a decent side with the players you've incorrectly called
So they're willing to take a £3m loss on a 24-year-old who has long been touted as France's next Big Thing? Anyone detecting a slight piscine odour surrounding this deal?
