Celtic will definitely be in POT4 if they get through. They were well down the rankings in 62nd when the CL qualification started.
That would be a "great match up" desire rather than a progression to next round? No? There's a lot to be said for great European night effect mind
The CL is all about being involved in quality games and I don't expect us to get out the group stage anyway. Plus, I want to enjoy the big nights again so yeah, lets have the big games. I doubt we'd beat Barca, in fact I reckon they'd batter us because we try to outscore them Celtic would be massive because its deemed "battle of Britain" but but they would be winnable matches too. I guess it would come down to the other team. Having said that, I've always hoped for the best teams when it comes to the CL draws. Plus we always do better as the underdog too.
I think it was the Anfield Wrap that said no matter what group we end up in it will be the group of death. We bring the death. As a good but unseeded team no one will want to draw us.
Very true. None of the teams in pot one, two or four will want to be drawing Liverpool out of the hat
As I said earlier... even the very best scenario, easiest teams from Pots 1 and 2 will see us play against teams like Benfica, and Basel. Not too scary, but not pushovers... but that's best case. Barcelona and Dortmund would be a nightmare. Imagine the group: Barcelona Dortmund Liverpool Celtic
After the first legs it's advantage Porto, Zenit, Leverkusen Arsenal and Bilbao so it's looking like: POT1 Real Barca Bayern Chelsea Benfica Atletico Arsenal Porto POT2 Schalke Dortmund Juve PSG Shaktar Basel Zenit City POT3 Leverkusen Olympiacos CSKA Ajax Liverpool Sporting Galatasaray Bilbao/Napoli POT4 Anderlect Roma Monaco Maribor/Celtic Red Bull Salzburg/Malmö AaB/APOEL Steaua Bucureșt/Ludogorets Razgrad Slovan Bratislava/BATE Borisov
